Hey guys as the title says im looking for ammo for my new gun.

I dont know sh!t ammo surplus ammo and chrome lined barrels. please can anyone answer my noob questions? i need to learn.

Is it really true we can shoot corosive ammo and the barrel wont start to rust? do we have to clean chrome lined barrels the same way with normal barrels?

If yes i wanna spam some surplus ammo outside, since we cant shoot these in my indoor club, any suggestion for surplus ammo? good place online to buy bulk ammo?

romanian, russian, bulgarian? is there anything i should be aware of??????????????

please advices!

thanks

Check out Budget shooter supply if you don't mind getting intimate with your rifle... he's got crates of corrosive for $235 if I'm not mistaken.

Alright, if you buy any kind of surplus, your pretty much guaranteed it's corrosive. It's recommended to clean it well after shooting corrosive, as the barrel can and will rust and corrode, chrome lined or not. if you field strip it and clean all major components and springs, etc, and clean out the piston and gas port andyou shouldn't have an issue. I use a wire bush and boiling water to get rid of the corrosive salts in the barrel and chamber. Water, brush, water, brush-repeat as needed, then clean with a patch and oil.

Any surplus ammo is good really, and Chinese is the cheapest you'll find...probably (it goes for $200 for 1000 rounds at my local Canadian Tire on sale). Online buy from Canada Ammo or SFRC.

Never mind the surplus...order dominion from Canada Ammo and your life will be much easier.
Non corrosive, regular cleaning. No water and brush and water and brush...
My time is worth more to me than $0.10/round.

1 vote for : buy the cheapest and shoot away !

Buy the cheapest (wanstall and marstar have free shipping a lot, paid 220.00 to my door for 1440 copper washed corrosive) or if you have friends in Manitoba that travel to Montreal, to save shipping, Wolverine has the best price in town.

Enjoy shooting it !

Take 10mins after to clean !

DONE DEAL !!!

Been shooting corrosive stuff for years, never spent more than 10-15 minutes after the session to clean and all my corrosive ammo shooting rifle are in excellent condition, crome lined or not.

I clean my firearms after each use regardless of whether or not I've fired corrosive ammo. If you use moose milk in place of your typical solvent after corrosive you have the exact same steps involved and length of time required in cleaning corrosive as you would non-corrosive. Depending on how thoroughly you would clean in a typical situation I guess.

Before this thread turns into an, "how to clean after shooting corrosive" tutorial, I am going to say to buy a bunch of Dominion as soon as Canada Ammo has it in stock and don't look back.

Moose milk? From a bull or a cow?
