Cheap Practice Rifle?

I have been going to build a 762x39, time to get going on it. I was going to buy a CZ but the wholesaler had no stock s few years ago. Cleaning a bolt gun after corrosive is a lot simpler than cleaning a gas gun.

...What about cz452?...
My favourite .22LR. I love shooting this one with iron sights cause I can set the rear from 25 to 200 meters and it's spot on with cheap bulk ammo.

How simple would adding a scope be? Is it drilled for bases and rings? I was thinking of a sightron s3 8-32? I've seen them on ee for 950 or less

It uses the same grooved top for .22 rings as all the rest.
You can also get the yodave trigger kit and have an awesome trigger pull. Mine is set at 8 oz.

BTW, mine is the Lux model. The pic on Reliable's site is for the American model even though it says Lux.

I have a Boyd tactical on my 455. Little smaller than a McMillan, but pretty close. Good for plinking and positional practice.
I weng with a 223 trainer, rebarreled my Savage with a Kreiger and put it in a stock from a FCP off the EE. Just need another scope and it will be damn similar to my 6x47L.

I have a savage tr22 made in Canada! i shoot Eley or federal gold medal match its very cheap. It shoots winchester t-22 not so bad either. I used to shoot with CZ, Anschutz, Izmash, Walther, and other european rimfire and would shoot lapua, rws ruag etc and other european made match ammo. Match rimfire ammo is still aloft cheaper then match fullbore.

22LR is good up to 100 yards for MOA-possible accuracy. It's very unlikely to be hitting golf balls every shot at 200 yards.

The CZ 455 bolt action rifles can swap barrels between .22LR and 17HMR (as well as .22WMR). The HMR will give better results beyond 100 than the .22LR. If you are determined to shoot longer distances you will need a CF caliber. 223 is probably the most affordable option.

Either a 223 or a 22lr both are cheap too shoot and good rifles don't break the bank. The CZ455 fluted thumbhole is the one I would get if buying new.I'm left handed so I have a regular stock CZ452 varmint and a 455 varmint both incredably accurate with SK std plus ammo at about 11-12 cent a round.200 yds best I can do is 4" clays best 10 shot group is 3.5"@200yds cci 36g minimag, golf balls every shot dreaming. For 200-300yds I have one of the flamer vanguards in 223 with a Vortex HST 6-24x50 that I bought on the EE.I have $1165 all in for that rig cheaper than my 455 with a sightron on it.I swap between both as its still 50 cents a shot with factory ammo and the 223.

Hm, the savage mark II TR is only 550 @ wolverine... But its right handed.. I really wanted to get a left handed rifle, this time around... The lefty is the 452 lux at reliable for 710.

Ordered a MkII FV today for a winter trainer. As money allows, I will upgrade the stock to something with a grip more similar to my match rifle.

I think I'm going with a right handed savage mk2 TRR, found one on the EE for 500 shipped 300 round count. I think its mine? Well we have agreed upon price, just tryna complete the deal.

Now I need to find a scope... I was thinking something sightron? I have a pmii 5-25 so I was thinking something with similar mag? I think parallax adj would be useful, as I'd like to shoot at 50 and 100m

another thing, where the heck can I get quality ammo from?

Hitsch sells SK ammo. SK Std. Plus is a good starting point. It's the same ammo as Wolf Match that is popular in the US.

If your main scope is FFP, put an FFP scope on it if you want the full training value from it.
