Tough mass crowd! Well I have to bear in mind my mass-charitable work of helping our 250lb, 6'4 friends around the mountains, as whatever rifle they bring will be tied to my pack at some point. "Here, use mine..."
Lol.... From the sounds of it, you'd be getting my pack first.....
Normally I don't like government interference in hunting matters; but 30 something guides who have been bitten by a radioactive mountain goat at some point should carry the clients rifle. If they can walk goat trails on their hands when any right thinking person woulld be sitting in the tent playing poker for oxygen molecules he should carry his pack, tent, poles, spotting scope and all of the food and water as well.

I'm feeling acutely outnumbered.
For the record the goat was only mildly radioactive, consenting, and we'd both been drinking heavily following a lengthy round of jousting for oxygen molecules. Judgement suffered, and to this day I visit a support group founded by Peter Parker.

I feel for guides, when I was guiding for sheep, I wished there was a fitness test as well as a common sense test for clients before they booked a hunt lol. I don't consider myself a goat or very fit by any means, but some guys that show up for a guided hunt really need to get out of the armchair more than twice a year. People worried about ounces on a hunting rifle, but never spend any time getting fit or reducing the weight in their boots make no sense to me.

When I was a youngster, there were ugly thin women. Now such a massive percentage of women are heavy, being skinny gets a girl an automatic 7.5/10.
After all the that turkey decided to have some fun today plinking with my old girl at steel plates. It helps to have your own private range to get practice too.
Rem 700 converted to 7.62x39. About 10.5 lbs with an old silhouette stock. Gun is pillar bedded and will shoot sub MOA with handloads.
To keep it fair I was using Romanian surplus ammo. It will shoot 2 MOA or better and the bottom target shows it's capability benchrested.
Here's the pics, you decide if it keeps in the rules as it's not your average hunting gun.

Now there's a build that makes perfect sense. any specs on the conversion would be appreciated.
Rem 700 .308 varmint factory barrel chambered to 7.62x39 using a a reamer throated for .308 bore. I have the notes somewhere, but essentially need to cut the barrel to the case/shoulder so it will clean up and still have plenty of meat in the shank. Do not use .223 action as the rails are too tight for the x39 cases or open them up slightly.
Bolt converted to PPC and Mini 16 extractor installed or buy a PTG bolt done the same.
Magazine converted aka 6BR style for short case. Will feed and eject five rounds in the mag once the follower was shaped right.
Standard firing pin spring is plenty for hard primers. Not one misfire and on the 4th crate of surplus.
Doing this yourself is cost effective, not so much paying someone to do it.
You contradict yourself, good Sir.............One cannot volunteer and then expect a consultant's per diem..............On the volunteer program I may have good use of your services, what are you doing from Sept 1 2016 until about Nov 30 2016? I have a few hunts that a packer/gun bearer would make doable for me, that may not be feasible otherwise............probably easier to buy a pack horse.............
