300 Blackout Barrel suggestions

I am going to put together a 300 blackout upper. I was looking for suggestion for a Barrel. Looking for something around 12.5" (could be anywhere from 7.5"-12.5"). I always prefer to use Canadian vendors where possible. Does anyone have any suggestions on a brand to avoid? Has there been any known issues with any of the Canadian made ones (NEA, S&J etc..)? I have done a search but didn't come up with anything.

I had problems chambering rounds with the earlier NEA barrels with the ARC+ finish. It was super snug (as in use forward assist to chamber rounds and mortar it to extract rounds) with reloads and snug with factory ammo. I contacted NEA and voiced my concern and they sent me a brand new one with their new black nitride finish and it was much better. It was (or more like me) shooting around 1.5" groups at 50yrds using a RDS.

While dealing with NEA on that barrel, I ended up buying a DD one and had zero issues with it. I guess the DD barrels may have been reamed a bit on the max tolerance side of SAAMI spec.
 
Thank you Trinimon, I appreciate the input. I have been looking at DD, AAC and CMMG as well as NEA and S&J. I am thinking I should stay main stream, the NEA prices are good but I fear poor quality control. Out of curiosity what length barrel do you have? I see some of the longer barrels have what look like a carbine length gas tube. I assume (maybe incorrectly) that they may have some cycling issues with subsonic.
 
I had a 12.5" NEA barrel and a 10.3" DD barrel. They're all pistol length gas barrels with the odd carbine length gas ones. Stick with pistol gas length barrels. There's no big benefit for using longer barrels with 300BLK.
 
They also had/have NEA barrels. I was tempted to pull the trigger on the 12.5" however, wasn't sure of the quality.
 
If you're going to spend money on a build, the barrel is where you want to drop the bulk of it if accuracy is your primary concern. Buy the best you can afford.
