My pistol shoots palm sized groups all day... Prove it!

I forgot this one.

Posted those on the other thread. Best score is 100-4x out of my 1967 S&W M41. Guess I'm due to try it out again to see if I can shoot better.

Don't know if it qualifies in the Rimfire or Target division. The pistol is completely stock tho.

Nice shooting.

I put it in target division, same place I put my mostly stock Mark III (swapped out the stock sights for Williams sights). I figure that with barrels longer than 5.5", they're generally what one would consider target pistols.

Oh, and if you ever want to sell that S&W drop me a PM before posting it on the EE, LOL!

Look at a 7" 22A-1 theyre surprising accurate some say par with the 41 at a fraction of the cost.

Your hunter should be able to pull that with a decent trigger. My 5" 2245 Target can. Honestly I don't get out as much as I used to. This 2245 and S&W 22A-1 it was my first time taking these 2 guns out. I wonder what it would been if I used something other then Dynapoints or Win555.

Yep, I know the hunter can, the point I dropped in my group was definitely me. As for the 22A, not really interested in it, it's about more than cost vs accuracy when it comes to guns like the Mod 41.

I tried this out for the first time today, only managed an 80 with my MKIII Hunter. This is only my third time shooting it, so I know things will tighten up. At 12 yards, I can shoot a 1" square with my .357, but at 25 yards, everything opens up - big difference for me and something I am looking forward to practicing. :) I let a 77 year old guy at the range try my Hunter when I was at the rifle range and I had to show him how to hold, brace his hand to reduce his natural shake, and on the second magazine he managed to hit 4/10 3" targets at 25 yards - he was so impressed that he is thinking of buying one. You're never too old to learn.

Just takes practice. I could do better, but I'm just getting back, So kinda rusty.

Should be going back out in a week. Forecast doesn't look like its going to be cold anytime soon.

^ are you the one that scooped that Nikko? I am wanting a pistol scope just like that for my Dan Wesson.

But yes - I need more 25yd practice and now that I have my front and rear sight from coming loose (just another Ruger), I think I can start getting some good range time of shooting and not adjusting.

Yeah took 2 PM about a week apart for him to finally get back to me. Then was a old school cheque mailed to BC from NS and I just got the scope today. Not a bad deal wish it had a bit longer eye relief, but better then the Ncstar or BSA I was going to buy.

Not sure how my 2245 will be, I shot the S&W better with irons then the see all. But the front sight is crooked on the 2245 and Ruger walked away. Being it was a gun they just replaced.

But I'm running out of time, and be only limited of only 20Y indoor because once the snow comes it shuts down the range. Due to people trying to shoot between the snow banks and baffles.

Zooming on your target I see 2 in the 9 ring not touching the 10 and one in the 10 not touching the X witch translate to 98-4x

They made the rules if it touches it score the highest, even a tear. That I don't agree with it, Because clearly some of the shots are not touching or broke the line. I know when I scored mine I scored fair and they score it higher.

Been competitively shooting for a while and a tear made by the bullet impact was never part of the actual score. But hey on one on my previously posted targets there's a tear on the 3 o'clock hit that break the X ring by half a millimeter. By those rules that should make a 100-5x score ;)

Yeah... I was going by how much of the percentage of the bullet went over the line. If that should get the highest value. In that case the lighter the paper you use the easier it would tear so their for better change of a higher value.

Pretty close indeed but zooming on your target I see 2 in the 9 ring not touching the 10 and one in the 10 not touching the X witch translate to 98-4x

On impact the bullet diameter must completely touch the line to make it count.

I can see where people don't like it, but I personally prefer the "if the paper breaks the line" rule. The same rules apply to everyone, and there's no ambiguity with scoring trying to figure out where exactly dead center is to determine scoring. I've seen the old timers at the range with their eye loop magnifier trying to see if the paper is broken. If anything, I say make the rings smaller :)
