So I recently recieved access to range before and after hours and when theu are closed. And am able to take my wife so I figured I might as well have another pistol for her to shoot. Picked up a sig 1911 .22 for her to play with but am wondering if I need to do anything to complete the transfer like I do with person to person sales?
Thanks

No. As long as you purchased this pistol from a dealer. The dealer will take her info (license # and few more), they will call CFO to initiate the transfer, and waiting time begins. CFO will send the dealer a transfer confirmation. BTW, is your wife a member of your club? Upon confirmation of the transfer, being her first pistol, she does not have an ATT attached to her License. You might have to call your CFO for a STATT and she will have to pick-up the firearm in person as it is registered under her name. But, being in Alberta, there might be some minor differences in your CFO's policy. When in doubt, there is no harm asking. Better safe than sorry.

Any time I have purchased from a store I have called and got the reference number for the transfer and then called the CFO. You can then confirm the transfer and get them to email you the Transfer Notification and any ATT you may need instead of waiting on snail mail.

Thanks. The gun will be in my name as she does not yet have her restricted license. She is not a member of the club no but the member level i have and being an rso I can bring a guest with me. I'm not to worried about the snail mail as I'm going back to work for a month anyways (work in ab but range member in ns, still have to figure out how to get residence in both places so I can shoot in both places!) Thanks alot guys!
