Getting a browning bbr and would like to replace the factory flush mount sling swivels with the more traditional protruding ones... i don't think they are as secure and I would like the option of putting a bipod on when I'm at the range. Does anyone sell kits to do this ? Or am I stuck with them unless I feel like getting creative.

You can buy sling swivels at crappy tire.... they would suit your needs and you can install where needed......

If I'm reading you correctly need some quality wood plugs and a bunch of elbow grease. Drill holes for new mounts and go....

The Pachmayr flush mounts are really oversize compared to conventional QD swivel studs, 1/2" in diameter. I have them on my 9.3mm and I hate them. I'd love to get rid of them, but there's no way to plug the holes so it wouldn't show.

Yes, my issue exactly. Someone should offer a direct screw in replacement for different applications!

I'm going to try and find something with the same size and thread that I can drill and tap if my search for something factory made doesn't turn up anything

1/2" ?? Wow, had no idea they are that much larger than normal.

You can order right from grovtec or try amazon, or pm me I might have a couple to part with for a fee. As long as the ones installed in your rifle are to the same size as the grovtec flush cups. :)

Why not install a single stud 2" behind the current one.
Then you could use your bipod with a Uncle Mike's sling swivel and the factory sling attachment to the rear.
I would be only a little different that a rifle with two studs and if done right would not really be bubba'ed.

This will be my final option ... I don't want to use the pachmayr ones at all... I have heard stories of un wanted swivels poping out and damaging the gun. Going to try the grovtec first. Pm sent Silvertip.
