If the stock isnt pind, its a prohib gun youve posted. Unless youve switched its classification.
Im guessung you havent.
Also iirc you cant cut a barrel legally past 18.5 including rimfires.
Please correct me if Im wrong.
To clarify, my little 10/22 is 26.4" in OAL. The barrel was not cut. The flash hider and stock is permanently pinned.
The whole action(meaning gun minus the stock), including bolt, trigger pack, is 1075grams. An Axiom stock is 1lb 2oz(from retail site), so about 511grams. So if I were to weight mine in an Axiom, it would be around 1600gram, plus mag and ammo. FYI The current stock is 900grams.
Some absolute weights:
A TRS/micro red dot is about 105gram range. A factory mag is 57grams. 10x 40gr 22lr is 33grams. Axiom stock is 511grams.
Scenario 1:
Your "3.75lb gun" is 1700grams.
Action weight = 1700 - 105 - 57 - 33 - 511= 994grams
So your complete action weighs just ~994grams while mine is at ~1100grams is a little hard to believe.
Scenario 2:
The weighed 1660gram gun has a full mag right? (I don't think it's inserted since its illegal to load your weapon in a lot of places)
Action weight = 1660 - 57 - 33 - 511 = 1059grams at best.
If you didn't insert any mag in it:
Action weight = 1660 - 511 = 1149grams. It's very hard to believe.
What I think your real weight is:
With mag and ammo and red dot = 1660 + 57 + 33 + 105 = 1855grams, so 4.1lbs
Just to let you know mine in a axiom stock plus full mag would still weigh less at 1781grams, 3.9lbs. Without red dot, it would weigh 3.67lbs, and it still has the aiming thingies and full mag.
By the way,
my barrel is about 0.6lbs. It took the machinist 30 minutes to reduce the diameter to 0.50".
