Are K31s getting rare?

It looks like Simpson got a ton of K31 and k11s recently....so if they're still making their way into the states, why not here?

Actually we did receive a large shipment last month. It was advertised in our section. All rifles were 7.53mm bores or better. All the best have been taken but we still have 7.51mm beech stocked rifles and walnut in the 7.52 and 7.53 categories. $425ea
Note: We try to help you pick the rifle you want but there is no use asking for a new bore, perfect wood and perfect metal, you can only get at best two out of three in very good condition.

Went hunting around Winnipeg for all things Swiss. Only found one rifle in the city. Cabelas had a nice one in the gun library for 399. Plenty of ammo around. Wholesale and CT gardencity had lots of ammo. Crates for 399 at Wholesale plus the 60 packs for 57. Canadian tire had the 60 packs for 54 plus the PPU 20 packs for 24$. Sort point for 28$

Did I see you buy a K31 at CT GC today?

That one at Cabela's in the library is....interesting. Whacked out black stain job on the stock and paint on the bands and such.

Lol....Ok let me correct myself. I only saw one k31 AFTER I bought one at CT. My spidey senses didn't pick up on any gunnutz in my immediate vicinity....weird. Were you looking at it? It is pretty rough.

Lol I was ice fishing shopping an aisle over. I saw you with one of the managers, Jodi, at the sports desk. Easy to spot a K31s action from a far I guess.

Hmmm weird I didnt even notice the blacked out stock groove or painted bands. But the metal all looked good and supposedly its all matching. I didnt handle it. I'll start thinking about ice fishing once the 30 inchers are around ;)

What's the long term outlook for GP11? I've seen k31's in the $300 range not too long ago, but I'm not interested in getting into reloading.

I think with the way the Canadian dollar is going the days of $300 K31's and cheap GP11 are long gone now.

Can not be too many left around at that price, even in the USA they are selling for around $350-$395 USD.

I recently saw several on a dealer's shelf in Spokane. Close to a dozen. They ranged in price from $200US with very good metal but badly dented/scratched stocks to Looking like unissued or at least FTRed at $500 US. Most of them were in way better condition than those we usually seen in Canada other than those Police K31s that were offered at a premium price by TSE a banner sponsor a few years back which were excellent throughout. They do show up regularly at gun shows though and you need to be careful because some of them have been completely refinished by their owners. Usually with a shiny coat of varnish and some cold blue added to cover up finish wear on the receivers which were worn when carried in the field by hands.
