I have been using IMR SR 4756 in .38 Super forever, but down to my last few grains.

I can change powders but does anyone have a powder they would recommend, rather than me trying several types to see what works best?

Intentionally putting this in Action Shooting (IPSC) rather than reloading because I want to stay above the PF minimum.

3N38 is good too. Some ppl like Winchester Auto comp for it but I prefer VV powders.

Hirsch Precision had lots of VV 3N-37 and VV 3N-38 last time I was there.

In Super Viht N105 is probably the best but hard to get and expensive...if you can even find it...like most Viht powders. Expect to pay well above $50/lb. I switched to Hodgdon CFE this year after it was recommended to me by Eddie Garcia and I'm really pleased. At $25/lb it's a lot easier to swallow.

N105 for ported bbl, I like it better than 3N38, for non ported, I like N350. Higginson carries Vhit powders

Ive used Hodgdon HS6 for years in the 38 super.Meters well,bit dirty but relatively inexpensive.Also always seems to be in stock.

I use 3N37 and like it. It meters very well, is super clean and very consistent.
