Joined the Tavor club. Got a couple questions

The 2 o'clock rail is has play buts all good. She won't fall off on you.

Not sure who makes the removable BUIS on the tavor but they are good quality. 100$ seems the norm for an EE sale

I would also recommend a magnified optic for a crown land gun. I run a 1-4 on mine. It's just a cheapo vortex crossfire 1-4 but it does the trick. I have no problem hitting 300 yard steel.

Just keep in mind, the tavor isn't a tac driver so don't be disappointed when you start shooting it. It's accurate for what it is, a combat rifle.

The sight radius on the Tavor is so short I wouldn't give a second thought to the precision of BUIS sights. In my opinion that gun is made for optics and that's that for that! I can't remember the make or model but I ran the 1-4x Trijicon scope with that dayglo red triangle in the reticle. I get picky about my scopes and it is my conviction that the glass in Trijicon scopes is on par with any of the top of the line suppliers like Zeiss and Swarovski. I foolishly let the scope go with the gun when I sold it and have regretted it ever since.

I shoot AR's so im not expecting to make the grade on Americas top shot. I just want a fun tac rifle i can drag into the bush.

Good to know. I really enjoyed the spectre glass but i didnt try the Trijicon.

Wow, you've got that mounted WAY far forward on the rail... can you actually get a decent sight picture with it mounted like that?

Elcan for the win....

You could run the MOR with a 3x magnifier - the actuator for the laser is designed to fit that cut out on the hand guard. Mounting a flash light in the front of the hand guard is very cool too. You can run everything you'd run on an M4 - light, AN/PEQ, dot and magnifier, all inside the envelope of the rifle.

I second you on the Trijicon optics. I bought one Accupoint TR24, mounted it on a rifle, used it once, saw how good it was, and eventually bought a second TR24 I liked it so much. Absolutely amazing optics. I prefer green reticle over red, but that's just personal taste.

I'm so disappointed that their new Accupoints (TR25, TR26) are almost impossible to get in Canada.

I ordered a Vortex 1-6 x24 Strike Eagle.

What mounts are suitable for a scope like this? Do you need the cantilever mounts? Seems some guys use them some don't. I'm looking at the Vortex AR cantilever 30mm mounts, would they work okay?

I think people use them because of availability, not any particular reason.

I bought one and they suck for left handers. The brass hitting your chin will draw blood in short order. Nice gun other than that.

Like TVPressPass said the left hand bolt is the way to go!

I'm left handed and experienced some bloody chin myself but swapped in a left hand bolt and now it's 100x more fun to shoot.

Definitely worth the money if you're left handed.

Ok so Ive started a bit of a parts list.

I am considering:

1.) Manticore overwatch rail vs. The Gearhead works full razorback

2.) Manticore gasket cover vs. The Gearhead works FLEx cover.

3.) The foregrip replaced for a mount with integrated flashlight option again manticore or gearhead...

4.) I was considering throwing my aac brakeout on but if i upgrade the foregrip i may have issues with the light mount install

And thats about it for now...just need to source Canadian suppliers.

1) waste of money unless you need it, it increases weight and bulky size as well as height over bore. Also makes you buy aftermarket BUIS, so it will be a $300-$400 upgrade (or downgrade if you consider weight and size, and height over bore)

2) unless you run with a single point sling I think buying one of these is pointless. Neither TVPP or myself run any ejection port cover, as it makes chamber checks and malfunction clearing easier.

3) consider weight, how metal feels to cold in the winter, and how you will be holding the rifle with the now flat underside vs the Tavors naturally ergonomic angle and hand stop.

Zahal is Canada's Manticore and GHW importer, Wolverine Supplies is Midwest Industries importer.

Cool, some good feedback. I'm having a hard time finding a buis where i dont mash my face against butt to get a good sight picture. Ill compare weight. Height over bore is a good point to bring up it does raise it another 1/4 inch and its already high as it is.

**edit looked on zahal andnthey say the razor back is lighter than te factory rail***

What do you mean by chamber checks and clearing easier? I was looking at the opposite side of the ehection port. Just looking for a better seal on the left side. Ive run both single and double slings and im definitely a two point preference so its strictly for gas control

Lastly, yea ill look into the weight again. I do prefer a light on all my firearms and the accessory rail is not a great option. I was thinking that a metal foregrip wouldnt be bad as i shoot with gloves (i have a tendency of bleeding during manipulations lol) and i thought the foregrip would heat up like a quad rail. And finally i shoot in vancouver area. -2 and rain is a catastrophic shooting situation for us lol
