30 Nosler

Someone should let Nosler know that the wheel has already been invented. These should go the way of the Rem Short Mags.

Lets see how many Nosler cartridges remain in production in 10 or 15 years, and how many rifles are still selling chambered for those cartridges.

Just about the worst category to introduce another 30 Cal. Unless it sends a 180gr bullet @ 3500 f/s or more it is another lemming. I already settled on .300winmag years ago for my .30 Cal needs. Just reinventing the wheel but with proprietary costs. Maybe 24, 32 or 45 would have been better choices.

As has been said, .30cal is probably the worst caliber to try and make a go of it. IMO they should release a Nosler 24, 34, and just because the Swift has been king of the roost for far too long, a 22 Nosler!

So I am at a loss as to how this is any better than a 300 Win Mag, as well as why they bothered given that the 300 Norma mag has been out for 3 years now and grossly exceeds EVERYTHING this cartridge claims to do.

Rememer the hoopla about the 300 WSM when it came out and how it was going to replace the 300WM? Still hasn't happened. But everyone likes the idea of an improved mouse trap.

Nothing is going to shake the .300 Win's hold loose on standard actions. Where the WSM shines is #####slapping the .308 in short actions.

This right here, the short Mags shine when compared to other short action cartridges. Comparing the 300 WSM to the 300 WM or other long action offerings, is no different than comparing the 308 to the 30-06.

Knocking new cartridges is a waste of breath.
If the shooting world is not growing and expanding its dieing and shrinking.

Just like hunting. If we don't get new hunters their won't be hunting in the future.

I would just like to see a 375nosler so the H&H guys have somthing else to cry over.

They were deeply distraught over the WSM (which actually was different due to the short action) I can only imagine they have been pulling out their hair with the amount of cartridges introduced in the last 10 years. WSM is 15 years old now, IIRC.

I think they'd just ignore it and go right on killing mountains of stuff just like they have since 1912. The H&H boys haven't lost much sleep over the .375 Ultra, Ruger, or Weatherby, or the .378 Weatherby for that matter, I don't think a Nosler version will shake them up. The .375 H&H is one of those cartridges that's just too good to become outdated, despite the standard action advantage of the .375 Ruger or the ballistic advantage of the big Weatherby.

I think you'd be disappointed to learn that very few people are actually as "passionate" about the differences as you.

Lots of 100 year old cartridges hang on, even if there are better options available, so will it be with the H&H.

Now, back to the 30 Nosler....Bartell ran some QL's through it. QL continues to impress me, Bartell has been comparing our chrono'd velocities/powder charges with QL and they are almost always bang on.

Impressive numbers that's for sure, but a 7STW can beat that 130 with 140's with a long barrel and loaded hot lol.
