Game Changer: The Benjamin Pioneer Airbow

Looks like Pyramid Air will be shipping them to Canada once they're in stock.

From what I've been able to find - it's being treated like an Airgun in the U.S. (based only on the websites that are commenting and those that might potentially be selling).

Looks like it's approved for hunting in quite a number of states already. However, I would think that hunting with it up here is going to be a while - as provincial hunting regs will all need to be modified.

its a bullpup scary assault tool. jk. i further that many provinces and ministries will likely call it a firearm for lack of a better classification.

Based on thew following;

1. Air guns that are firearms for purposes of both the Firearms Act and the Criminal Code. These are air guns with both a high muzzle velocity (greater than 152.4 metres or 500 feet per second) and a high muzzle energy (greater than 5.7 joules or 4.2 foot-pounds). The "muzzle velocity" is the speed of a projectile at the instant it leaves the muzzle of a gun, normally expressed in metres per second or feet per second. The "muzzle energy" is the energy of a projectile at the instant it leaves the muzzle of a gun, expressed in joules or foot-pounds. Air guns need to meet both standards to be classified as firearms for purposes of the Firearms Act.

I doubt that it will be classed as such - but it may never be legal to hunt with up here.

I'm glad to see such new and innovative ideas go to market! I agree that for equal or less foot pounds of a crossbow in price, these isn't priced bad at all. I'll be getting one once stock is readily available. Wonder if D&L will be stocking these???

This is revolutionary, it eliminates or at least seriously mitigates arrow flex that comes from launching the arrow from the rear - brilliant!
I would really like to see some high speed camera footage of this being fired. The arrow mounting rod looks like it does impart some wobble.

Looks scary though, probably banned - too easy to convert to full auto......
