So last night I listed an HK SFP9 for sale.

It was sold to the first "I'll take it". EMT went through last night.

This morning I contacted the CFO at opening and the transfer number was shared with the buyer.

I heard back from the buyer that the transfer went through at 2pm.

In the mail by 3:00pm and the buyer has tracking number.

Thanks everyone, and thanks CGN! The fastest deal completed yet!

CFO responded in less than half a day? WUT?

the SFP9 is an amazing gun regardless of what Tim says about it on MAC/Youtube (hes just but hurt because he purposely broke his gun and it didnt fire after).

the Take Down on an SFP9 is far easier than a 1911, less than 2 minutes to disassemble and reassemble.

Lots of guns disassemble faster than a 1911. A great many in fact. That's not a very good yardstick to measure it by.

The gun malfunctioned in testing that other guns did not. Glock, for example. HK is in competition with these other gun manufacturers, and people might not want to settle for a non-reliable gun just because of the brand on the slide or the slick marketing campaign. Here, where they are range queens, it's not a concern. But not there, or for someone like me who might decide to carry it in the wilderness of the US (I like my G20 or revolvers for that, but that's not the point).

Apparently neither of you live in Ontario because we had to wait 3 weeks for Ontario CFO to put a transfer through. Actually maybe a little bit over 3 weeks ...

I started this thread to highlight a very positive transfer from an Alberta Seller to the EE to the RCMP to a BC Buyer; the type of restricted firearm is incidental to the topic and should be discussed (in my humble opinion IMHO) on another thread.

You're right, of course.

Apologies for the derail

I have done 2 restricted transactions since December I'm in Ontario. The one ontario to ontario was 3 business days and I just put one in the mail to going to Calgary that was 2 business days. Always be polite and ask that the paperwork be sent to you via email.

I started a transfer on the 17th or 19th of December; the buyer and I are still waiting for the paperwork to show up (did not know they would email now). I sold it to buy another one from a gunsmith in town; that one was started late on a Friday afternoon, and I got the call it was done Tuesday morning and I was told that was slow. If a retailer wants to push (careful how often) I have been told it can take the time it takes to have a half decent lunch at a local restaurant.

I've had 3 day transfers in the past when buying from a business but in this case the CFO told us that minimum waiting period for person to person transfer was 3 weeks cause they were backed up. I wonder how many firearms are traded on monthly basis for the CFO to be that busy. Also I do not know what gave you the impression that either me or the seller were not polite but that's simply not the issue. Matter of fact, firearms owners in Canada are so polite that at times we seem almost apologetic and at the mercy of our CFO and etc.
