Anyone have some decent time running an MRO? I've seen the Haley videos but want to hear from guys who have got some decent time with them. Any issues? Likes/dislikes?

Thanks

I have. Was hoping for some recent comments. Sometimes comments made on forums aren't exactly first hand, as I'm sure you know. Hopefully some guys can chime in with their thoughts at some point.

M4carbine.net scared me into buying a Aimpoint Pro instead. Had one on my Tavor and seemed fine.

I didnt experience any of the posted issues, But I only had it for a week.

Just got mine a few weeks ago, only took it to the range once so far, but after 400 or so rounds so far I love it...

And for comparison I currently own these other sights
Trijicon RMR (6.5moa and 3.25), Eotech EXPS3-0, Aimpoint T2

The lens has a little color tint to it, it says no magnification but I find it has a little. The looks grew on me a lot after getting it. The best part about it, that I like its it doesnt feel like looking through a piece of pipe like the Aimpoint. The wide view is nice

If it came down to it again, I would have bought this over the Aimpoint T2 it was much cheaper, and I like it just as much if not a little better
I have it mounted on a lower 1/3rd mount on a 9mm AR pistol

You are aware that you need to keep BOTH EYES OPEN when using a reddot?? The "tunnelling" that people complain about is usually because they close an eye which is wrong.

Where did I say that I shoot one eye closed?

I do shoot both eye open even thou 4 years ago I had my skull shattered in an accident and cant see #### out of my right eye anymore. Before this I was a right eye dominant, now I have no choice but to be left eye dominant. Pistol or rifle I shoot everything both eyes open That being said both eyes open or not, the design of the MRO having a larger front lens, makes it less "looking through a tube"

If that is the same for everyone or not is up to the individual, but that is how I feel about it after using both types back to back.....Its not like I dont own both, and Im just saying what I like about the one I have....I own both, and I like the bigger view of the MRO over the T2....To each their own, thats just my opinion

I'm in the market for a new dot for my DDM4A1. I know a few people who have used them and didn't like em and a few loved them. Sounds like the love hate the eotech had. I'm leaning towards the PRO but keep coming back to look at this. Might have to at least give it a try

Never implied you shoot with one eye closed, I was implying that many people in fact do shoot with one eye closed. This is where the "larger FOV" gimmick comes into play. If you use a reddot properly with both eyes open, the FOV is exactly the same as what you see right now while reading, typing, looking around, etc. In your case the larger objective is a plus for obvious reasons. For anyone with two functioning eyes it makes no difference.... If you use the optic properly.

I really wanted to like the MRO but the magnification issue is too much for my eyes to handle, and the fisheye effect around the edges doesn't help.

The hate for the Eotech is because it doesn't work as advertised, not quite the same thing with the MRO.

Comparing to the Eotech 512... it made a lot of rail space available all of a sudden.

I've read a lot of reviews in a Tavor group I'm always reading and the vast majority claim to like it over their aimpoint's. I'm wanting one now myself, I also want a Browe BTO or BCO. I have 2 rifles without optics after the eotech fiasco.
