I have always wanted an older Browning High Power bolt rifle. Ever since I was a kid and saw one first hand.

Does anyone here own a nice example, or collect these? Post some pics if you do!!

While searching the web I found this, of all the rifles on earth this is the ONE I would own if at all possible.

They're actually the Safari model. I own one in 30-06 and another in 264 Win mag. They were manufactured by FN in Belgium.

I borrowed one from a fella several years ago for deer season.

It was in 308 Norma Magnum and had a beautifully crisp (guessing 3-4 lbs) trigger.

Sad part was that it had lots of surface rust hidden under the stock from years of being out in the cold then being brought into the house and getting "frosty".

Not likely poor storage rust.....the dough heads used salt cured stocks on some years of production. If you are ever buying one loosen the action and check for salt rust in the barrel channel........I have a .308 NM with a Butler creek replacement stock as the original was broken when I purchased it.Very accurate gun............Harold
