I still cant believe how people find the ACR's and XCR's front heavy.... ive handled both plenty, neither are anything close to what id describe as "front heavy" . It sounds like people need to put down their rifles and start picking up some weights lol

Although it's not on your poll I would recommend the Tavor over all of the ones listed. I've owned three (and sold them all) but that's mostly because Nova Scotia doesn't allow Crown Land shooting without a hunting license so I might as well own restricted rifles. Have you thought about the Tavor at all? It's very reliable, relatively lightweight, super compact, uses AR mags, and has significant aftermarket support.

Front heavy doesn't affect those who are tall. People who are shorter, even if they hit up the gym, would find the gun awkwardly front heavy. That's why companies make short crossbows for shorter people and long crossbows for taller people.

My 542 has no fit or finish issues at all.

I have heard this before from others and it is not accurate in my experience. My lgs has these in stock from time to time and I have not seen any improvements yet worth mentioning.

I hope the Swiss SAPR gets NR status.

nah, im pretty sure they just need to pick the sand out of their swimsuit area lol

YUP!!

A non-restricted XCR is NOT a CQB gun, it just ain't, and I think that many of the "operators" on CGN forget that. I think they also forget that them real operators are in fantastic shape!! :)

The XCR's have a reputation for reliability issues. Like a really widely believed reputation for issues and being temperamental for break-in.

I'm shocked the XCR is in first place in the polls!

Simple math really, Wolverine supplies have been getting steady quarterly shipments of XCR rifles for years almost a decade, I won't be surprised if the total number of ACR and FAMAE rifles in Canada is less than 1/3 of all the XCR's.

sure, but quantity can not replace quality

Interesting comparing the poll numbers to the complaints in this thread alone. Seems many people who own the XCR are happy with them and would recommend them, and the same tired old complaints by the same people come out over and over...

I doubt anybody that is recommending the XCR is trying to print cloverleaf groups with them, they are fun and functionally accurate for the purposes of plinking and hunting. Most users seem to have little in the way of issues with them, and haven't had to spend hundreds of dollars and weeks/months waiting for parts to make them functional and NR.

I've owned all 3. Currently have a famae and xcr in my stable.

ACR was my least favorite. The whole gun felt and fired like an air soft rifle.

XCR I was nervous about based on their track record. I grabbed a key mod 223 and have been pleasantly surprised. No issues yet.

Famae 542 I love because it's a 308 battle with ergonomics. It's old school and reliable. Definitely not the prettiest however

The price for an xcr-l is ridiculous. I know the dollar has dropped but these are not 3k guns. At that price you could include the modern varminter. I would personally go for one of those or a tavor or acr at that price. I own an XCR-M, tavor, acr, and modern hunter. Seeing that you can get a used tavor on the ee for 2.5k it's cheaper than the alternatives but you can find a used xcr for a good price too. I would not pay what wolverine is asking for a new xcr l though.

Can't speek for the FAMAE and ACR but my XCR-L with pistol mags full of cheap corrosive ammo makes me happy. Used to have 4 different Swiss and a Tavor and I still have the Robarm.

After I got used to handling my Tavor pretty much any rifle that isn't a bullpup feels front heavy. The balance is right over your hand. It's amazing considering mine weighs 9lbs with optic. Certainly doesn't feel like it.

If the OP wasn't super concerned about accuracy I would suggest the tavor as well. I love mine. None of these rifles will shoot as well as my bolt guns so I don't really worry about printing tiny groups with them.

At the time I owned my keymod (light barrel) XCR the balance or weight didn't bother me, but I would probably notice it after spending time on the tavor.
