Rumor is Kimber is unveiling a new Montana @ SHOT - anybody have info? All I know for sure is 22-250 & 6.5 Creedmoor have been added

I hope they've ditched the Rem710 stock color, and add a hinged floorplate. And that '250 be a 1/8 or 1/9 ROT barrel

floorplate? why so? add those extra few grams?

I like the Colour too haha!

sheesh, I just luurrve mine!

darker finish on barrel be a mountain mans dream.

I'm with you. I like the colour and no floor plate. Although if there's gonna be a new model out maybe i can pick up another old model montana for a steal.

Repainted the stock on my '07 Montana a tan with black webbing/speckle and never once felt the need for a floor plate. It's a lightweight hunting rifle- not a truck gun.

I wish they'd make an 18" barrel Montana and leave it at the Montana price instead of the Adirondack price.

Gray and no floor plate .... just fine with me.

A lot of the Montana's appeal comes from having a lightweight with a regular length barrel. They'd be shooting themselves in the foot, not to mention the fact they'd have two very similar guns they're selling.

Didn't say it had to be logical, just what I'd prefer in a Montana.

I'm curious what they are changing? I have a Montana in 7/08 and it's great! I should have bought one long before I did. I must say for no other reason than personal preference I do like a floorplate.

The thing that interested me about kimber when I got my montana back in 2007, was the full length barrel. I wanted a light weight rifle that was capable of reaching out. I don't feel the need for a floor plate on a rifle that Im hiking with. I think the 84L is perfect the way it is. Its a beautifully balanced rifle, control rnd feed, great trigger and safety. The stock is designed to handle recoil, probably the best stock for a factory rifle. Whats not to like!
