Decided to take the plunge (375 H&H) Now which rifle should I buy? Updated page 92

So I have decided that I will be buying a 375 H&H, probably as my next gun. My price range is around $1,000 so that I can get a decently good quality rifle without breaking the bank.
So far I have found the CZ 550 American Safari Magnum, Zavasta M70, Remington Model 700, Weatherby Vanguard S2 and the Browning X-bolt hunter. I have short listed the Browning X-bolt and the Weather Vanguard S2. I really like the Browning, but the LOP appears to be made for little people. That being said, I can always get a couple spacers for the LOP.

My question for you guys is two fold, A) am I missing any rifles from this list that appear around $1,000 new and have a chambering in 375 H&H B) Which one would you guys recommend and why?

I would recommend the CZ from that list, or save a little more and buy a Ruger M77. Next up the list I would find a Winchester M70!!

You can't go wrong with the Zastava at its price point..... Will you be getting a nice refined rifle that will turn heads?.... No.....but you will be getting a reliable Crf of appropriate weight that is both functional and accurate.....

I kick myself for selling mine.... Although I do love the rifle I bought with the proceeds....

Should you choose to go with the Zastava, I suggest Tradex as your vendor...... If you want, I would be willing to go down and inspect some samples to help you win the wood lottery..... The hey are 20 minutes from me and accept visits by appointment.... And any time with Tony is time well spent.....

Have never seen an M77 in H&H........ Was not aware they existed...... That would hit my wish list instantly.....

M77 RSM. Ardent had two for a time. At least one of them is gone now. That said, they're a pricey proposition, but probably the best rifle dollar for dollar that you can buy.

Believe they were the RSM...ruger safari magnum. Way more rifle in value than you were paying. When Ruger came out with the 375/416 Ruger in the M77, they discontinued it, rather a semi custom rifle....that they probably lost money producing. A Bill Ruger special....not the same company as when he was around...not quite the bean counters of freedom group(rem and marlin..etc) but close.

Gorgeous rifles, but absolute pigs in .375. In a rifle that heavy, a .416 or .458 chambering makes more sense. Also way over than his $1K price point.

i will point the Zastava if you have long arms ...

Cz and Winchester maybe good but have shorter LOP and the Cz is an heavy hog for just a 375 ...

i like the cz base and rings attached to it like on the ruger rsm but i do not think you will find one for a $1000.

if you are not limited to the 375 h&h, the 375 ruger is a good basis also that i like. but the actual versions with the brake is a no no on my opinion.
again short LOP.

good luck and let us know your choice.
