10mm loads with power pistol

use that data with your 180gr bullets, using a lighter bullet (within reason) will result in lower pressure so safety wise your golden. start low and work up as always.

x2.

Starting with numbers for a higher grain projectile will be safe.

Just work up from there. :)

Oh, And enjoy the fireballs. :D :ar15:

Try 6.5 Power Pistol and 180's. Federal uses this in some of their ammo from take down tests. It gives about 980 fps in my 10 mm 1911. Really accurate and nice to shoot. Same as 40 S&W.
Try 8.0 Power Pistol for a 3/4 power load in the 10mm. Also extremely accurate in my 10mm 1911. Federal also uses this load is some of their ammo. Gives about 1200 Fps.
Try Accurate #9 for nuclear loads in the 10mm.
These are well known loads in the 10mm and well published. Also below max loads.

I was mistaken. It was the 165gr xtp not the 200gr. Starting load on the 165gr xtp should still be safe with a 180gr fmj no?

It will be fine to start at a recipe for 180grn's under a 165grn.

You need more powder for a lighter projectile.

Also.... Different bullet style, so watch your OAL. Always safer to go longer than shorter. If going shorter, reduce your load and work up again.

**** Alliant lists the MAXIMUM Charge. You need to reduce that. ****
