I know there is jack all I can do about it but the weather in Ontario this hunting season has been farcical. From 20c during the deer hunt in Nov to now we can't seem to get enough to snow the 3rd Sat in Jan to walk out a few coyotes tomorrow. I'm sure we have all had our weather druthers at times but come on ma nature you are a cruel Beeath this season. Not sure it will even freeze up enough so that I won't have to slog through the mud to try some coyote calling in the am.

Sorry for the rant!

Come to the better part of Ontario. More of a hunters paradise up here :)

It has been an odd weather year though!

Nope your right Brad but muddy plowed fields make for a crappy walk to and from stand sights

Hell.... Don't I know that.... I would rather trudge through a foot of snow for a kilometer than walk 250 feet through a muddy tilled field..... I fully admit that...

I do not ncourage all of us to get out and do what we can though..... Sure beats cabin fever.....

On a good note, as was mentioned earlier the milder winter should be good for both deer and moose. Also, you may note that the first Mon. of Nov. this year is actually the second week as the month starts on a Tues. We're hoping the second week will translate into cooler temps and maybe the rut will start when it's supposed to. There was absolutely NOTHING moving during the week we had up in WMU56. Sure enough on the Sat. night (we had to leave the next morning) weren't there 4 freakin' deer on the front lawn in the evening!

It was colder in Oct while moose hunting than it was in Nov & Dec. This past week or so has been more seasonable compared to the previous few weeks.

well its windy and snow pretty much gone - hunting season for the most part been a bust

Exactly how I feel. Was gonna try calling this am. Then the gusts to 50 KM's started so scrapped that idea too. I guess I'll do some reloading this afternoon. Can't bear another afternoon at the mall sitting on the bench while the wife shops for nothing we need!
