Best Auto-Loader for $1500?

Went to a few LGS's today.

Tried them all. Love the A400, great stock on it. The SBE2 and Super Vinci are nice as is the Maxus. They all seem to be good guns and I felt comfortable with all of them, especially the SBE2. I'm liking the 10 year warranty on the Benelli's

How did you test to see if the gun fits you?

We tinkered with LOP, mounting, thumb to nose, bead sight view, and just overall feel. I couldnt shoot the gun obviously which would be the best test. But if you have any further advice I would welcome it

Close your eyes, and mount the gun. Then open your eyes without moving the gun and see how the rib and beads line up. If you mount the gun with your eyes open, you will correct for a poor fit without even realizing it.

Vancouverbc, If you want to come out to Abbotsford you can shoot my A400. My buddies and I keep threatening to shoot sporting clays at VGC.

Give the benelli m2 a good handling, I love mine, it is super light and shoulders very easily, I have taken many a duck. But I second previous posts on 'individual gun fit'. What works for some doesn't works for others.

If you shouldered all the B guns, its not likely they all fit well. There is usually one brand that fits better then the others. I have found for me that Brownings fit extremely well, Beretta's dont. Many people have also discovered that if one if those brands fit, likely the other doesnt. Stubblejumper's advice is paramount. If the gun fits, it should be pointing to where your eyes look no matter what. If you open your eyes when you have a comfortable mount and find that the gun isnt pointing to where your eyes are looking when you open them, the fit is off. Being off a even a half a cm can mean you'll be off your target by feet!

I tried Maxius, A400, Stoeger 3500 and Settled on a Winchester sx3 cause it fit the best. At your price point try to shoulder everything in the store and go with fit. Oh and don't look at the price tags if at all possible. That way you wont hum and haw over a few hundred dollars and you'll get what fits you best.

I really appreciate the info on finding the right fitting gun guys. I am just doing some research online with some of the suggested brands and then will go back to the dealer again to try the fit as per your advice

I really like my A300, I really couldn't justify the price increase for the A400. I've had it a year now, shot it plenty, no malfunctions, no complaints. Runs clean, feels good. If you're really not a shotgun guy, aim for the lower end of your price scale and make up the difference in shells! Practice makes deadly.

If you can get out to a range where they shoot skeet, let them know you are looking to purchase a shotgun I'm I'm certain there will be a number of guys who will to let you try their shotgun out for a few rounds. it won't take long to know what feels good ( although most guys have the shotgun fitted for themselves, but it will give you a reference point
