How to mount a Surefire x300U to a 870 ?

I have a 870p with magtube extension.

What is the best way to attach that light the shotgun.

I bought the light for a P226 but it will be use a lot more on the camping shotgun.

Either a barrel clamp with a mil-std 1913 (picatinny) rail attachment, or a railed fore grip. Shouldn't be hard to find for n 870.

You can run a Magpul forend with a rail, either offset or direct mount. Ergo makes a decent looking picatinny railed forend, direct attach the light on the side of the forend - lots of options. If you want the true ### appeal solution, there's the Cadex forend. The forend is the place for the light, though, so you can always activate it and don't have a cord running back and forward.

Mesa tactical also makes some barrel clamps with rail. It's more expensive than SJhardware.

This attaches to your magazine tube. Then you can add whatever light you want, at any angle you want.
