Webbing Effect

So while I wait for my new Sender sf ii to start my custom build I was going to try to paint the stock on a savage axis I have. I am trying to get a textured stock with a webbing effect look to it. I seen some rust-oleum textured spray paint and the krylon webbing spray paint. Anyone ever do this and how did it turn out. Anything I should do or shouldnt do. Thanks, Trevor.
 
There was a pretty decent thread of a feller gummutters that did a Blaze camo stock.
My search abilities t'aint worth the effort.

Maybe someone with better 'puter skills could bring it up?

I paint my stocks with armacoat and krylon webbing with excellent results. I have never cleared over my paint and don't plan to in the future.
 
I picked up a can of excel texture paint trying to find the krylon webbing paint around my area. Am going to paint the stock tonight with the texture paint see how it turns out and wait to find the webbing paint.
 
My Google-Fu is weak tonight. I couldn't find a single firearm pic/video of someone using it on a stock. From the couple vids I found for arts & craft stuff, you sure don't want to overlap or double back to overlap that webbing spray or it'll look like sh!te.

I heard that the Krylon Webbing paint was discontinued as well but I did manage to find a can of it on the shelf.
 
I got krylon webbing paint in the States from Jo Ann Crafts , I've done several stocks with it .
I scuffed up the stock and cleaned with lacquer thinners, on black stock I painted it directly with a contrasting webbing paint and then put several coats of clear satin to help for durability.
For the stocks I change colour on I prep the stock the same and then paint with fusion to adhere to the synthetic stock then web and finish with clear satin.
So far it is wearing well but it does come off, touch ups aren't too difficult.

Very nice work!
I like the green one with the black webbing.
This gives some inspiration to take a shot at doing my stock!
 
I wonder what the places like B&C do to web their stocks. Sure its the same type of paint they use to paint the stocks with.

Probably something to do with adjusting the flow and pressure of the spray gun.
