Recently replaced the stock on my Savage Fv-sr with a Boyd's and foolishly didn't consider that I will need a new trigger guard as well as the factory one is molded into the stock.

Does anyone have a trigger guard kicking around? Or maybe can point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I figured that out but their flat charge $40 usd shipping on a $20 usd part makes the little cheap plastic part worth $80 cad!

I tried savage arms and looks like they don't ship to Canada.

but I would still expect to pay a good amount for shipping either way...just how it is....try to do a group order together with a buddy maybe

Savage does ship to Canada... I have received many orders from them. Call CS @ 1-800-370-0708, tell them that you need "B" series bottom metal for a Boyd's MKII stock... this will include the trigger guard, bottom metal and longer action screws.

The last time I tried to order from them they told me they couldn't ship to Canada because there export permit expired and they were having trouble renewing it. That was last fall.

is the B series bottom metal thicker?

Thanks for the good information so far guys!

I have one gentleman on here who pm'd me about this and I will most likely get the part off of him. If it fails, I'll try the savage route and see if their permits are renewed.

I got a bottom metal off of a CGN member (R204 is his name) who makes very nice custom thicker ones, just need the trigger guard and "maybe" the longer screws

I've been using a trigger gaurd made from the original plastic stock and now I'm looking at ordering a trigger gaurd and bottom metal. Is the Boyd's trigger gaurd metal or synthetic? Is the DIP trigger gaurd metal? What's the cheapest route, going through Boyd's kinneys or savage?

Dip is aluminium

Damn, this is an old thread... I ended up having a member contact me on here and sell me his OEM metal piece. The fitment was perfect. I ended up not using the gun as much as I thought I would and sold it a little while ago.

Thanks everyone for your help!
