Does anyone use one for 223? I bought one at the Woodstock gun show last fall. The package paper said 45/70. I never thought to check the actual die. Guess someone got a laugh because now I'm staring at my 45/70 loads I wanted to play with and I got a 223 crimp die.
Is it worth keeping for 223? I don't know if the guy will exchange it at the next show

I use Lee crimp dies for my 223 ammo and 6 other rifle calibers. It's good insurance and a very quick extra step in reloading.

The guy who sold it to you might not have even known. A lot of guys buy at auctions or from estates and put them up for sale again without ever using or even looking at them.

I believe it was an honest mistake as I've ordered direct from Fsreloading and got mixed die sets. They have great service. I guess I'll keep it and just try to locate another 45/70 die. I'm also looking for a 458 wm one as well

i put a light crimp on mine for my ar15 for plinking ammo, not sure if it's truly needed but i don't mind the extra step.
