Why Aren't The 35's More Popular?

I have another prettier 350 too and a nice Whelen and a sweet little 358 Win as well, but you're gonna have to sweet talk me to get me to post photos.................Oh ya and I almost forgot a very nice shooting 95 in 35 Win.

I see nothing wrong with 35 calibers and wouldn't turn one down in a pre-64 M70. . There were a few 358's built in FW and earlier in production there were a few 35 Whelens. . If I happened upon one I would buy it if was very good original. . I don't doubt the 35 cal guns are a good hunting round, but as far as a hunting rifle in larger than 30 cal I like to use my 1959 Model 70, 338 WM. . What works good for me is 73 gr of 4831 with a 200 gr bullet. . I can load more powder and use heavier bullets but this load seems to works just fine. . The only added weight over my 30-06 is one inch of extra barrel. .

There aren't many left... but what is there is not curly... ;)

Somebody (not me) should run ballistic comparisons between the .35's and thetr .338,9.3,.375 counterparts to see if the hunting public has really missed out by largely ignoring the .35's

;)

This rifle weighs quite a bit less than the old 600 and I don't find it at all obnoxious to shoot..........and my loads are smokin'...........For those who are unfamiliar with this rifle, it is a Remington model 7 KS in 350 Rem Mag.

"This rifle weighs quite a bit less than the old 600" ?? Really ?

I see conflicting weights for both the 600 and M7 KS. Looks like they would be in similar weight class but I've never handled a 7KS.

Have always like the Model Seven.

I'm guessing this KS version has a lighter stock and barrel than the typical M7's ?

MAH................Model 7 (older one like this) has a much slimmer barrel that the 600s and Kevlar is less than 1/3 the weight of wood, especially like the old 600s with the long square forends.

I could knock some more weight off it by changing rings and mount and doing an alum bolt shroud and speed lock kit, but can't be bothered I love it just the way it is...........
