Beretta/Tikka announced last year that they would be selling CTR specific mags at about 1/3 the cost of the TRG type.
Are you listening Stoeger?
P.s. Import the damn CTR .260 rem. already.

Does anyone know what service ammo is being procured? Are we talking FMJ? Match grade?

I wonder why we don't go through IVI for 7.62 as I think they provide our belted C6 ammo? Sounds like we could have added to our existing contract and got a better price on volume?

I would take this time to remind those that think it won't work on the cold, that the trigger bow us too small the LOP us too short , it should have been CRF,that the cartridge us wrong, etc.
The Rangers themselves helped design this firearm and were part of The trials of the same rifle .
Where we fugues like matters nog yo them
to paraphrase one if the Rangers from a few months ago:
" I don't care what you think about it, I like it.
Bottom line is I have one and you don't"

Anybody have an idea on the price these will likely be selling at, I have been hoping these become available since I first saw them. As for the ammo in the last post would they not be using hunting ammo as a lot of what they do is predator defence

Well I imagine it will be a fine rifle and if there are problems they will be addressed and fixed. As for Rangers liking them....'maybe' but since I recall discussions about replacement options for the Ranger's No.4 back in 1990 (around the same time the 'C10' was being planned)...I am sure (after 26 years) the Rangers would be happy if we gave them anything that would shoot!

Here is the actual rifle and associated kit.....

Well I like it and it is a nifty piece of kit that other countries will be jealous of!!! The Rangers certainly deserve a good new rifle and I think this will be it!!!

I like it.... But still not digging the small ejection port.....

Traditionally, the Rangers ran Without optics..... So wonder why the rail is needed, as I have read nothing in regards to a notice choice.....

Barrel seems short, not going to make a very good pry bar on their stuck ski doos, but the finish on the stock will make them easier to light on fire so they can keep warm

Oh come one now Rascal, ski-doo's never get stuck....you must have meant to say Arctic Cats. :)

The eastern font doesn't drop to -35 and lower.... It's a different ball game up there....

"The winter of 1941-42 was most severe in European Russia. In the area northwest of Moscow the mean temperature during January 1942 was —32° F., and the 26th of the month in the same area saw the lowest recorded temperature of the entire Russian campaign:
— 63° F. The southern part of European Russia, too, had record low temperatures during the first winter, with readings ranging from
— 22° to —40° F., compared with temperatures of 14° to —40° F., in the same area during the following winter"

-40 is the same in both Fahrenheit and Celsius.
