A new tool finally arrived. I really wasn't having much luck with hydraulic depriming before, but when I saw some folks in Russia machining deprimers I had to order one.

This one is for 7.62x39 and works wonderfully. I tried it out in the sink and I did not have water flying everywhere like when I was trying to do something similar with a drill bit.

I use a pin punch to deprime 7.62x25 brass successfully but this is faster.

Put a piece of brass inside, add water, put the top piece in and tap with a hammer. No press required.

Sizing of course is done with the press, with the depriming rod removed (the brass is berdan).

With that video unless you have a very snug fitting tool to fit in the case it would be a messy inefficient process, and slow as well.

Relativity simple key is to find a tool that just fits in the case mouth. I would make a different kind of shell holder that you could set the shell in and would hold the water instead of running all over the bench. Would be pretty simple to build.

I do like the machined tool. Generally a well made tool makes everything easier.

What about a 3/8 " hardwood wood dowel spun in your drill with some sandpaper to reduce it to a snug diameter?
