Anybody here ever scoped a Cooey 39? (older version)

Hey guys~I have one of these little darlings, but it sits in the safe...doing nothing. I'm not overly keen on permanently modifying such a nice specimen but on the other hand...I'd likely use the damned thing if it had a nice, low-power scope on it. I don't think I want any botch-job where an aluminum picatinny/Weaver rail gets stuck on with some epoxy (I've seen that) but the only option I can think of would be pricey. Through work, I deal with a superb, custom machine shop and I'm relatively close to sending him a technical drawing with what I have in mind. Before I do...I'd love to see/hear about your scoped 39 if you did some custom work to get one on there!

My suggestion would be to get the receiver drilled and tapped like the Cooey 60 and then use the side mounted stamped steel scope mount. A model 60 could be used for a template as to location.
 
I had two scoped 75s. One had a rail crudely secured with mismatched screws. The second had a rail that was bedding to the action (epoxy on base but could be removed). It was nicely done.

I've used the 2pc. Weaver mount for the Cooey 60, but I don't think the receiver is the same diameter on a 39. They're very small rifles. Don't have that 60 to compare it to now, but, I remember that didn't hold the scope perfectly centered (horizontally, sighting down the barrel). It was parallel to the receiver/barrel so it functioned OK...but I always wondered if that was an error in the dimensioning.

I used millet angle loc rings on mine to make up for any issues in alignment of the bases. Worked okay, it was the trigger than limited the accuracy of that rifle.
 
i just completed the installation ..[1] weaver top mount base 48092 the6-48 nf screws are with the base ..they fit perfectly on the COOEY 39 receiver ..i went overboard i installed a BUSHNELL ELITE 3200 ....3-10x40mm scope ..

Let's see some pics! :) Did you drill/tap the receiver yourself?
