Almost there with the gear I need to reload,,,,couple of questions, though

So I think I have pretty much everything I need to start reloading. Got the things out of my Lock and Load kit and worked at getting the bench ready today and then I realized that I still don't have the shell holder I need to load for my .308 and 300 WSM. Being new to the game, I guess I thought they would come with the kit. I went on the Wholesale Sports web page and found that there's a fair bit of discrepancy between the prices of them. They're not expensive but is one better than another? Do you get what you pay for?

Lee Precision $3.89
Lyman $5.94
RCBS $11.04 (on sale)

Also, being that I'm going to try to find a "go to" load for hunting in terms of FPS, accuracy is equally important to me so I'm wondering if a neck die is a necessary tool,,,,something like the Lee Collet neck sizer?

Appreciate any feedback you'd like to give.
 
I only own lee dies/shell holder/press. I have made sub moa ammo with LEE, so I dont see why id spend more on the same thing. I'm not that good of a shooter yet.
 
I have both Lee and RCBS if you buy lee dies they come with the shell holder had no problem with either manufacture Lee has two types of shell holders one is for thier hand priming tool and the other is for presses and each manufacture has their own numbering system to collate with cartridge sizes

That's basically the plan. I only have one .308 ,,,,,so you think a neck die is a good idea? Is the Lee Coolet neck sizer die a good choice? Once again, I heard they're one of the less expensive ones.
 
Neck sizer is of debatable value, but use it if it makes you feel good. I FL resize and pay more attention to overall length and a good consistent crimp.

Lee shellholder will work perfectly well and leave you a few dollars for an ice cream.

Mmmmmm,,,,,icecream! I won't need to crimp when reloading for a .308 calibre rifle, will I?
 
Lee sells the shell holders in a kit where you get all the sizes. I'll be picking one up soon as I seem to misplace them and have a few sizes gone missing.

This is a good deal. Just be careful and get the press version (green box I think) as the red box is the holders for their hand primer and are not the same.

I've had the green box version of this kit for years now and I think I may have possibly used every case holder in it. Simple and easy, works great.
