VZ58/CZ858 magazine fitment

Before anyone ask/say : yes I did search before posting.

I have 2 magazines that will not fit at all, like they are too wide or something. The 2 other ones I have, one fits like a glove and the other one needs a bit of convincing but goes it. You can easily see where it rubs by looking at the paint on the mags.

My question : is there anything to do to make them fit better and if yes, what is the trick.

The magazines are the 7.62x39 version

if they are surplus mags sometimes they have so much of that ####ty paint on the part that feeds into the mag well. File some of that paint off and see if that helps

Thick paint was the problem !

Do you guys know if the cheap surplus mags that Lever Arms and Dlask carries fit CSA rifles? I keep reading conflicting reports. Some claim that the CSA magwell is slightly thinner than the 858 milspec ones.

Surplus Czech mags fit fine in my csa. The original one I have for my rifle is a refinished surplus one....

I only use the surplus magazines and they work without issue in my CSA Vz.58.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'll be ordering some surplus mags and trying them out.
