Spam? Marlin Firearms Closing their doors...

I got a forwarded email tonight that may be a viral sending or spam or??? Stating that Marlin Firearms are closing their doors... I doubt that, as they have a solid niche in the market, but stranger things have happened, and when the drivers of the Remlin bus are involved, never say never.

Anyone heard anything about this?
 
I havent ,but that would be strange ,since Gremlington just retooled the lines to bring quality up.
They killed H and R, maybe they will ditch the Marlin name or change the logo to " bring it up to date" like Savage.
 
Can't see this one being true as they just spent a metric phucktonne on fixing the remlin problems and trying to put out quality product again...Can you post the text of the email?
 
They are still active on Facebook, if that means anything.

Don't see anything new from them at shot this year, which isn't a great sign.

Disappointing year for lever actions in general...

Highly unlikely. But depending what e-mail program you use, you should have an option to "expand all headers" or "show source" or something similar, which will give you all the hidden metadata. You might be able to see where it came from.
 
Whatever else you do, if there's a link on that spam email, leave it alone. If the email contains pictures and your mail client is set to show them without your express permission, make sure your antivirus is up to date and get a scan done.

I agree with your sentiment...

Marlin still not producing 1894c or 39a and there website is crap. Would love to Winchester bring back 9422, I can but hope.

I "heard" they are introducing a commemorative hunting line :)
 
Maybe with the Remlin, they got so deep in mediocrity they just decided to trow the towel...

Remenber GM, they never recovered from their cheap out years... JP.
