whats the going rate for pure lead? before I dump it all in the big pot I want to know if it is worth holding onto or selling off as pure. I got it in on trade, lead sheets from lining a x-ray room, all brand new

Lucked into a few pounds of pure yesterday. Asked my local Chiro about his x-ray machine lead, if he had any "surplus", turned out he is just in the middle of re-doing his machine and has a bunch I can have. I offered 4 .50-.60 lb....he replied come and get all of it if you want it for .50

$1.50...you may even get as much $2.00 if you are patient.

Local dealers are paying around 45-50cents a lb in NS, if you pay more then $1.00 lb, you're not looking hard enough for clean lead. I get it for 50 cents a lb (plus tax) as well, also pure clean lead. I've heard the price dropped a lot over the past year. The price for scrap lead is online and seems be quoted daily. In the end it's worth what you can get for it.

there is a difference between clean lead and pure lead. pure lead still demands a premium price. Maybe the price difference is regional. tire weight ingots are at the $1 mark around here. have not checked the prices lately, but last time I did they were only down about $0.05 from what they were last time I checked.

Just checked wheel weight price has gone from $0.32 to $0.25/lb at the wreckers. if you guys are finding it that low buy as much as you can.

Where can I find the wheel weight ingots, just paid $1.00 a pound for pure lead but would prefer harder stuff!!

The few scrap yards around here that I have dealt with, don't seem to differentiate between lead and lead mixtures. Going rate seems to be around the $1 mark for individual purchasing on anything deemed "lead".

So, bought some lead X-ray lining for 50cents Lb, and am going to see some different lead for same price next week. Anybody know what this is? Very soft lead
