Parker Hale 7mm Mag?

I picked one up in 308 from EE last year for $350 if I remember correctly. Lovely rifle! looks just like BOLT_ACTION's, just my bolt is blued. The way the cheek rest is carved and how my thumb rests against it, is just perfect.

Sporter is short for the old term sporting rifle as opposed to a military rifle or target rifle. Nothing to do with modified military rifles in my mind but maybe I'm just old.
I'm not what I consider officially old yet, getting there, but your definition pretty much sums up my take on that subject as well.
the PH sure looks to be in very nice condition and even better the reason it was acquired.
Should bring some good memories in the coming years.
Had one in 300 winmag and boy could it shoot.
I didnt like the heft of it, but it did cut down (weight of gun) on felt recoil.
Magazines can be pricey and I had two not to mention sometimes hard to come by .
Keep an eye out for if and when yours goes awol ...plan to part with a brown one.
Nice Gun and range report when you find the time.

Rob, I think he said his is a floorplate like my old 308 NM............Clefty, ya I'm gonna jump all over a trade like that, cause God knows I don't have a 270 right now and I must NEED one..........but on the other hand, I think a polite NO THANK YOU is in order..........

But, they do shoot and tose who are looking for that spare mag can be in for a surprise when it is time to fork over the cash.

Well, languages change over time. "Sporter" in current parlance almost always means "converted military rifle." But point taken.

Anyone know where to get replacement butt pads? Do they have to be fill fit or is there another manufacture that shares the same ones?
I have to replace mine as well, will probably just fit a good aftermarket if I can't find an original.

I was doing some searching and someone indicated that Tikka Limb savers fit alright, I will pull mine off and head down to Canadian tire and see if it matches up alright

It was an "hommage"..... I thought it was awesome, much respect for someone that knows a rifle is a tool meant to be used..... And has used said tools extensively.....
