Is it worth holding on to brass to resell?

I'm wondering if it's worth holding on to once-shot brass for resell purposes? Some research has the price all over the board for resell value. At the volume I shoot, I think it would take me a year to build up 1000 rounds of 308 or 30-06 brass, and even then it would be a mix of the two. Is it worth going through all the trouble of hording it just to sell it for $40-$50? Or should I just give it away to re-loaders at the range?

Before anyone brings it up... reloading is NOT something I'm interested in. It's too time consuming, I don't have the space, and I don't want to invest in the equipment. So holding the brass for myself is not really an option.

you could sell 1000 308 or 30-06 brass for more than $40-$50, the going rate for once fired 308 brass is between $150 to $250 per 1000

keep it and then sell it on EE

I always gave my brass away, until I started reloading. Its not worth picking up and storing to get $40.00 a year for it.

I'll give you $60/1,000 and I'll even pay for the shipping!!! Lol

I never scavenge at the range but I do save my brass. I either give it away to someone I know who reloads that caliber or on occasion I trade it off for brass I want.

Should you be a good earth citizen and recycle? Perhaps
Does it take much time or space to dump the brass into a 5 gallon pail in the garage or shed? Not really.
Assuming you can recover $50 per year, and you re-invest that into the hobby, is a free mag or a free box or two pending caliber of factory ammo worth it to you?

Only you can decide :)

Wow! That's a lot more than I thought. Hmmm... have to reconsider.

My range accepts and sells the brass to fund improvements to the grounds. Maybe an option for you?

That's not a bad idea. I might ask them if they do that...
