The HMG™ Sturmgewehr is a modern interpretation of the classic StG 44 bringing together the classic function and form of the original, while also making the firearm accessible and shoot-able…in a rifle caliber! Available in a variety of different models from classic to ultra modern, this firearm is sure to please any enthusiast.

its available in 7.62x39, 223, 300blk, 7.92x33.

Takes STANAG magazines!!!

Didnt Marstar have something similar to these awhile back they were made by Sports System Ditrich $3000. Think out of stock. I think Wolverine had them as well. Saw one up for auction a couple years ago it went for more than the new price.

There is no specific reason for it to be prohibited. Based on barrel length, it would be restricted.
It has been mentioned in another tread that the manufacturer is interested in doing these with a non-restricted length barrel.
Of course, they would need to be FaRTed, and who knows how long that would take?

it would be prohibited due to barrel length? why? is it that short on oal?
do you mean restricted?

The MP44 / Stg44 barrel length is approx. 16.5 inches. The overall length is approx. 36.5 inches.
So it would be technically restricted by barrel length. So what we need is a 18.6 inch barreled MP44 for non restricted status.
Btw the MP44 /Stg44 is a WW2 German designed carbine. Why did you start this post in
the Red Rifle forum?

sorry - my bad, wrong forum.

Where is this other thread? the search function has failed me.

Edit: They are also making it in 7.62x39, which might be of interest to "red rifle" users. Now, if only they would make it in x25 :)

h t tps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StG_44

The Sturmgewehr remained in use with the East German Nationale Volksarmee with the designation MPi.44 until it was eventually replaced with variants of the AK-47 assault rifle. The Volkspolizei used it until approximately 1962 when it was replaced by the PPSh-41.
Also used by the Czechs as well after WWII.

In this way, the MP44 is a red rifle :)

well more than a few of them turned into the red hands of the glorious fearless unstoppable red army.

Maybe because the Germans sent it to "Russia with Love".

Basically if it looks fun in this country it's illegal.
Guns
Whores
Moonshine
Drinking and boating
public nudity
Riding a motorcycle without a helmet
Having a loud party
More than one wife
Underground fight clubs
Street racing

Well we do live in Police state. Where everything is illegal until you have permission for doing something, ie license or authorization or grant.
So until you obtain permission for doing any of below, then its illegal.
By the way, moonshine is legal to make and consume, even give to whom ever wants it, but not sell. If you planning to sell it then again you need permission from police state to do so.

Agree with above, except...my understanding is that it is still technically illegal to distill alcohol in Kanada without a license, even for home consumption. The Queen's Cowboys and the CRA might not be interested in nailing a home distiller for PR purposes right now since it isn't that common for people to do, but if it ever becomes popular - watch out.

Now, it isn't illegal for a whore to sell her services. It is illegal for a guy to buy those services. So, "whores" aren't illegal, "johns" are.

In BC it is effectively illegal to have a motorized bicycle, no matter the top speed or engine displacement. They got tricky - they said the bicycle is legal, but must be registered and insured. Except it CANNOT be registered or insured as it doesn't have a VIN. So even my old moped is illegal even for just booting up and down some side streets at 20kph.

In Alberta it is effectively illegal to grow tobacco (you would be in possession of over 1000 g of tobacco, regardless of dryness or condition, and therefore subject to $10K fine and 6 months jail time).

As for the HMG Sturmgewehr I have little faith that it will ever exist physically, so it is probably a moot point. Then, will the RCMP say that it is a variant of a prohib, and therefore also prohib? I know they didn't do that for the 22lr, but that thing is rimfire and made of pot metal - it can't fire "dangerous" centerfire rounds. This thing can. I guess I don't have any faith in an organization and political structure that prohibs guns based on aesthetics...

"Variant" kicks in only when there is a named predecessor. A variant of an AK can be prohibited. The STG is not a named prohib.
