Shooting vests

You do realize a shooting vest isn't supposed to be loose, right?

Phew . That is good to hear since none of mine have been loose since I turned 45 ;) and getting tighter I think ever year ;)
Started with that dicky do disease I am getting
The one where your belly is starting to stick out more than your dicky do ;)
Just funning with you but agree
Cheers

I finally broke down and ordered a shoot the moon vest. The lady I spoke to was very knowledgable and helpful. According to their size chart it was a no brainer to order a custom fit. Now the wait begins!

the local Canadian Tires near me seem to have vests at different times of the year and also clear them out regularly in the fall after hunting season, Beretta and Browning usually (these are not hunting vests but actual shotgun sports vests, mesh back, padded shoulders, pockets big enough for a box of shells etc)
Calgary and Fernie if that helps but the OP is in Van so maybe they do it too?

Beretta / Perazzi vests are eurofit. If you are a XL then get an ###L... and so on ....

if you are getting jackets.. then one up is how it works... so if you are an XL.. then an jacket is XXL

This is incorrect for most people. I am a large t shirt and large vests fit me perfectly. You do not want a vest hanging down to your knees. Most vests also stretch out quite a bit after being used. For jackets i would agree that 1 up is probably correct.

i have a UK Beretta Vest that is ###L and fits me perfectly. the XXL is too tight... Browning XL vest fits me perfect as well.

Good idea, I haven't checked canadian tire for their vests yet.

Each brand has their sizing differences and you probably wouldn't want too tight a fit either or it'll restrict movement .

I hear you, we all get this way eventually. I see this at the club every year though, someone who buys a vest to fit over their winter coat, come summer it's loose to the point it snags up on the gun during the mount. In the winter, that vest that fit nice in July is left unzipped over the winter coat in January and causes it snag on the mount and can hinder your swing if it hooks on something. Myself, I use a vest in the warmer months and a shell pouch in the colder months, rather than purchase a second vest. The other benefit is that the change in your length of pull is minimized by not having a padded vest over an already bulky jacket.

Just ordered from shoot the moon. They are amazing to deal with and friendly. The exchange sucks but I can't wait to get my custom vest! They also have a 2 inch zipper extension to add 2 inches to the vest for cold weather and bulkier cloths. 3-5 weeks until it gets done but I will review once I get it and some shooting with it

Great! Awaiting the review.

Also how much did that cost ya? It will be tailored so you sent them your measurements?

*Edit*

Just checked out their website, doesn't look like it'll be custom made but they can add add-ons like additional pockets or embroidering. Has prices on their site as well. Thanks!

Funny how times have changed and they have grown. When these came out if I remember right they were girls only ;)
The company was started by two women to make vests that fit women well. Cheers

My wife bought two their early vests fifteen or twenty years ago.

Yes sir, They were by far the best out there for ladies. We were getting our bud one as a joke until we found out they were made bigger in the bust and smaller in the waist. We would have had to tip him upside down since he was the total opposite to that LOL
take care
