Impulse buy! CZ455 - newest member of my CZ/BRNO family - Range test added

The ammo will have more to do with it then the scope. If you want good groups bend 75 yards shoot standard velocity ei under 1100 fps. The bullets loose stability when crossing over the sound barrier and with 22lr that tends to be at about 75 yards.

Thanks, I'll give standard velocity Federal Gold Medals next time I shoot to 200 yards.

Good choice! I drove past Hub a couple of times on the 30th and 31st. You might have been in there making the deal. I have a 452FS .22, and 455's in .17, .22, and .22WMR. The FS won't likely see daylight, but the .17 sure will. Nice little rifles, they are.

Thanks for taking the time to post your targets, etc. Happy New Year! :)

p.s. I was just trespassing in B.C., visiting my nephew. I also stopped and pestered H4831 on my way out. I didn't let him hose me on a gun.... This time! :p

Those impulse buys are great, i picked up a used 455 super match at a gunshow for $350. Got home and discovered a Timney trigger installed, Shoots as good as my 452 Varmint and maybe a bit better depending on which brand of ammo. I also need a different scope as the Leupold 3x9 is going on a different rifle soon and want a AO scope for the 455.

Looks like you won that time out congrats

Did some shooting with the kids the other day and had a bunch of pea shooters out.
I took the CZ 452 Scout out and a couple of targets as follows. It sure didn't care for
the Winchester shorts.
But did pretty good with the PCM's I am trying to use up.
I forgot my range finder, but I think it's an honestly long 25 yards
we were shooting.

With the interest in 200 yard shooting, the Sierra Infinity Six Suite was checked as there is load information for various Rimfire manufacturers.
CCI, Eley, Federal, Lapua, PMC, Remington and Winchester.
Eley Match EPS has a BC of .148 whereas standard round nose shows a BC from .12 to .14.
When Eley Match EPS is sighted in for 50 yards, the chart shows it to be 7.42" low at 100 and 54.36 low at 200 using a velocity of 1063 (as published on the box).
With a 100 yard sight in, it is 39.55 low at 200, or roughly 20 minutes, and sighted in for 200 yards shows the same bullet 19.77 high at 100.
A 5 mph wind at 3 o'clock will give 2" of drift at 100 and 7.6 at 200 so wind flags would be an assist.

I looked for the 200 yard challenge post but could not find it. This could be republished if someone can re-direct me.

At the two ranges where I shoot, one is 192 yards with a 4 degree rise and the other is set up for 100 and 200 meters. The program will accommodate both situations.

Hopefully these figures will get everyone close as they extend their yardages.

I went with a Bushnell Legend Ultra 4.5x14x50 with a Mil dot reticle and mounted it in Talley 1", 11mm high rings.

I put a cheap strap on cheek pad and the cheek weld is good.

I sighted it in at 50 yards with Thunderbolts and then fine tuned it with CCI Minimags. Even without sandbag and just a front rest I was getting 3/4" groups at 50 yards while shooting fairly quickly.

I had a young shooter from work with me so for fun we put up some 12 gauge hulls on the 100 yard targets.

Holding the -1 mildot on the top of the shell we were picking off the shells pretty easily.

I put a Leupold 2-7x28 Rimfire on my 455 Lux and it fits perfectly without interfering with the iron sites. I used the Burris Signature Rings so that I can remove the scope and use the irons at will without having to re-zero the scope each time or take it out of the rings. It's a super clean setup, I love it and I haven't even shot it yet

I'm loving the clean optics on the Legend and 14x with MilDots makes long shots disappointingly easy.

I'm going to bring some decent quality standard velocity .22 LR ammo next time and shot groups at 100 and 200 yards off sand bags and see what it can do.

Next time take your time and you'll be shooting well enough to easily qualify for the "My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!" challenge.

I picked up the same 455 a few months ago from Canadian tire with a ding in the stock for 50 bucks off, I like the open sights a lot. I've put a couple scopes on it but I just keep taking them off to use the open sights. I have a brno 2e and a 452 style with scopes on them already so this one can stay open sights for a while again. It goes with me everywhere though, probably gets used more then most of my 22s:)

Hey guys I'm completely new to this site and how to navigate it. I want to locate and purchase any model of Gevarm .22 cal semiauto rifle. If someone can attach a thread or tell me how to go about doing this would be very much appreciated
