9mm and 700x

Using 124g copper plated and 700x. My first 10 I loaded I started at 3.4 g and they shot but didn't cycle my semi enough to grab next round. Hard to find data for cp bullets and 700x , plated data says 3.7 - 4.2 for 700x. Will going up .3g from 3.4 to 3.7g be enough to cycle the pistol ? Or should I increase by .2g at a time ?

With fairly fast powders like 700x a .3 gr. jump is around a 9% increase in powder which is substantial. Load 5 or 10 at 3.7 and then another 5 or 10 at 3.9 or 4.0 as silverfoxdj suggests. If it cycles at 3.7 then the 3.9 will cycle as well and you're only stuck with 10 rounds that are a little hotter. Somewhere between 3.7 and 4.0 you should find the sweet spot.
 
I've loaded plenty of 124gr Campro 9mm's with 700X. I use a .5cc lee dipper - 3.7gr according to the table. It works like a charm in my M&P9.

Thanks for the info I am going to try at 3.7 and see how it goes. Should be fine. Then I will try a few with .2 more. Thanks Ted_dent.
 
Well got it working at 4.1, 4.2 , 4.3g. Brass was dirty at 4.1 but it cycled. I will load more and see what shoots the best. Leaning to the 4.3 brass looked good and no pressure signs.
 
Hodgdons online data shows 4.2 grs. of 700x to be max.
I use 4.0/4.1 grs of 700x in both 115gr & 124gr plated campro bullets. The reason I say 4.0/4.1 is that it doesn't meter all that well. All my 9mm cycle with this load. Just keep an eye on your OAL. Dirty brass you say? Well, its 700X! (dirty ole shotgun powder!) :)

Same, my 650 metered 700X OK, but not consistent enough. It was all I had for a few months.
Thankfully, a bunch of Titegroup came in, so back to normal.
 
I find the LEE Powder Dipper kit to be quite useful for small charges of flake powder like 700X and more repeatable than most mechanical powder measures.

To get 700X to meter consistently in my Dillon powder measure I strapped a cheap aquarium pump to the side of the powder reservoir. The vibration eliminated bridging and dropped the variation from .4g down to less than .1g. I still check every 20th charge to be safe though. If the Lee auto disk doesn't have a baffle in it, you will probably have to make or buy one though.
