Hi there,
Is anyone know what is the cause of this?

No other signs of overpressure, these brass were purchased already used in bulk, but were in pretty good condition, and I do and overall inspection of each of them when I reload.
It happened to three cases on 100, this is a Winchester Brass but the two other ones were another brand (I don't remember). I just discarded them, but I Wonder what can cause this...

Thanks!

How many times has that brass been fired . Also is it a hot load

The load is at medium range between starting and maximum, but I can't tell easily how many times I shooted this brass (two or three times), but I had it used... So probally shooted once or twice before.

You do not state your load so we can only guess what caused the over pressure event picutred. You have no idea how many times that brass has been fired. I can say from the photos that there was a gas escape and you are quite lucky not to have lost either your rifle or your eyesight. If the primer pockets are enlarged from too many hot loads you will get that. If you are running too hot you will get that. Faulty primers? no. The gas escaped around the primer.

Faulty primers....yes. Known issue with WLR primers. This is what is happening.

It's nothing to do with over pressure, it's caused by faulty primers. It's a known issue with Winchester primers.

I agree and my advice would be to get rid of the whole lot of brass to be safe

Bad primers. Had the exact same thing happen in my .338lm using winchester primers, and it gouged my bolt face. No reply from winchester, so I'll not be using their reloading products in the future again.
