FIRST Action Rifle League CQB of 2016

We designed these matches specifically so that people DO NOT need a black badge. It's one thing to want to do IPSC and to get right into it and pay the $250-300 for the course. But other people don't want to or cant afford to drop that kind of cash on silly things. So we designed it so you don't need it. Anyone can try it and its relatively cheap for what you get.

Looking forward to it. I'm assuming we need 5x5rd mags for mandatory mag changes (did I miss the COF?) and so there's little point to me bringing LAR- or Beo mags?

Just bought my ammo today -- International in Surrey has 77gn Hornady Match for $34/50 and I bought their last box of 55gn @$31 -- so let's hope the rain holds off!

Bring whatever mags you like, the more the merrier:). The match specifies how many rounds to load for each relay, and it's always five or less in the rifle mags so as not to give ARs etc. an unfair advantage over other platforms.
Example:
For relay 1, you need to bring 4 rifle mags with 4 rounds each and 2 pistol mags with 4 rounds each to the firing line. On the whistle, you engage each of the 2 fig.11 targets with 8 rifle rounds each, your safety inserts your chamber flag(provided at the match) and then you engage the 2 fig. 14 targets with 4 pistol rounds each.
I bring my ATRS mags and Pmags, capacity is dictated by the COF. Clear as mud?
Bug Longshot at the email address in the first post for the COF, or I can send it to you.

Wish I could be there on Saturday. Smelly Pete, let me know how it goes for you. I took your advice from last years match and have my AR zero'd for 35m in preparation for the Apr.2 match. See you then. Good luck on Saturday.

I spent the day at the range shooting the complete 2016 course of fire. Pretty happy with my rifle scores, but I really need to practice with my pistol more. 10m not too bad, but past 15m I kinda suck. And drill # 3.4 is a tough one to get a good score on.
Anyone hear how the 1st match went ?

It went wonderfully! New COF was challenging, but a ton of fun! Weather was very cooperative. Some amazing goodies on the prize table, thanks much to the sponsors...Wanstalls, DsTactical, CTCS...was it MDT that donated the two chassis? Those were a phenominal prize.
Looking forward to the next one; as you say doo925, I must practice more pistol! Thanks as always to our tireless Match Director, and the lovely scoring lady...:p

was my first ever competitive shooting event and I had a great time. tons of equipment malfunctions in round 1 but got it sorted out. Thanks to Tim for the magazine loan. and yes more pistol practice. definitely interested in joining the group again and getting to know folks better.

cheers,
Mark

Thanks to Ryan for the pistol and the match!
Also thank you CTCS for the gift code.

I need to get a 9mm once again, and actually practice with it. Fun time, looking forward to next.

Right on guys no problem. Glad you liked the course of fire! We will only get smoother running it. You definately need to make your pistol hits to maximize points! I always have guns to loan if anyone needs one. Had 3 out today!
Yes thanks to the sponsors. Wanstalls DSTactical CTC Supplies and Laszlo at MDT for the two chassis he gave for prizes. It really topped things off!

Yesterday was the first 'match' of any type I've ever done and the first time I've really shot off the bench. All my kit worked. I worked. Thanks for making it super beginner friendly, guys!
