I'm working on a Martini Cadet and remembered a useful resource for British fasteners etc.: British Tools & Fasteners in New York. In my case, I may need a tap for either BA6 or BA7 (for the rear sight windage adjustment on my Cadet if you're curious) and they have them. $9.68 ea.

I also noticed that they have a tap for 7/32-40, which is used for aperture sight inserts. Yes, Brownells has these as well, but they're $35.00, whereas BT&F show them (in the "Model Engineers" section) for $7.26.

Good place to know about.

:) Stuart

ps: I see they also list tools for the old British Seagull outboard motors, if anyone remembers those. (The manual for which clearly stated, "If all else fails, read the instructions.")

You can try this chap as well https://www.peterdyson.co.uk/
Ahh, Seagull outboards! I have 4 longshafts sitting in my shed-I brought one for my 18' skiff, then another for spares but the donor was in better condition than the original. Then was given another 2 that both run well, so will just have to buy more boats!

Absolutely the right attitude! There seems to be quite a lot of interest in keeping these old stalwarts running. I think the manual for ours said that some of "the little boats" that helped in the Dunkirk retreat were powered by Seagulls and some that didn't make it back were dug out of the sand after the war and put back into operation.

I don't think it ever happened, but I have this image in my mind of Tim Hunkin, of that delightfully quirky TV programme of the 80s and 90s, The Secret Life of Machines, making an oversized Seagull out of bits of heating duct and such and explaining the fundamentals of the internal combustion engine. :)

Did you try Mark Chesebro? ht tp://www.chesebrorifles.com/
I obtained some items from him for my BSA Martini Mk II and he was helpful with information.

Another good link to have on hand. I'd not heard of him. I also just thought of Bob Snapp, who makes rimless extractors.
Info from Brownells:

Snapp's Gunshop
6911 E. Washington Rd.
Clare, MI 48617
Martini cadet rimless case extractors
Phone: 989-386-9226

(No e-mail as far as I know.) I've never dealt with him but he's apparently been in business for a long time, like Ron Smith.

I think I have all the stuff I need for my Martini, or will have when I get around to ordering the BA6 tap and whatever from British T&F.
