Just wanted to put it out there Wally World has Federal 525 Bulk Packs .22 LR for $27.98!

Not sure if I should go buy a lotto 649 ticket now or if this means the days of shortage are behind us ?

What is .22LR is going for at your local retailers?

I was looking to post this in the sticky on .22LR prices that I thought once existed? Mods pls feel free to move this if the sticky does infact exist and I am just blind ;)

Am I just old or do I remember these being $11.99? In fact, I think I still have some downstairs with the price tag! Sigh, prices have gone NUTS!

Cheers
Jay

Last time I looked in a local Canadian Tire, CCI Standard Velocity were going for $8-9 for a box of 50. So $80-90 for a brick essentially.
Cheapo American Eagle was $5-6/50.
I picked up 2500rnds CCI Blazer recently at $32/500. They seem to the best combination of reliability, price, and accuracy in most of my semi/plinker 22's.

The .22lr I shoot most hasn't changed much. About $65/500 for the low to mid range European ammo (Eley, SK, RWS, etc.). Was $50/500 4-5 years ago so is cheaper considering the dollar. Nothing made in the US shoots as well in my European target rifles (CCI Green Tag and Federal Gold Medal Match included).

With our dollar rate ammo took another big jump. Grab it if you can at that price!! Canadian Tire in Cold Lake just went from $31.45 to $35.45 for the same ammo in the past two weeks.

Is it really the dollar/buying power causing the price hikes....?

When we finally went back to par with the U.S. A few years back did the price come down ?

If/when we return to par will the price come down?

Their inventory said 24 bricks in stock and none on order.

Is there a better value out there? $0.05 per round is best I have seen in a long while

If you want it , buy it now before it is sold out . 22lr at he Walmart here sells out within 2 days , and sometimes takes months to restock....and the prices will start to rise with the falling Canadian dollar as the old stock is sold out...

i used to buy quite a bit at the kirkland store in quebec ,they stopped selling ammo , no idea if any others sell it
only one i ever came across in this whacky province

Bought a couple boxes at Home Hardware in Yorkton SK.

Sticker is $31.99

Its the going price of ammo these days, if you want it then buy it. Just like gasoline, we moan and complain but no one is gonna stop driving.

Damn I need more.
Wish can am could get some for a good price
Las good deal was 2 years ago at a Walmart in Edmonton. Bought out the 2 bricks of wildcat for 15$ each

The price increase up from around $12 was blamed on metal prices, then Obama, now the dollar.....
The good news is while the dollar is low so is the price of lead, copper and fuel. If the market worked we would probably see a wash with costs going down on one end and the Cdn dollar going down against the US.
