My 8mm Rem mag and 7mm Rem Mag

The 160 AB has a better BC than the 175 Partition, meaning it retains energy better than the 175. That's the facts. 175 Partition vs 160 AB, well there is a whole subjective debate there, but the only fact is the the 160 AB retains more energy than a 175 Partition.

This, plus the fact that you can start the 160/162 grainers close to 100 fps faster than the 175, gives the 160 the edge. Dave.

Have any of you actually tested the 160 AB's BC? I find that Nosler overstates many of their BC's. I guess I shouldn't pick on Nosler as many companies do it. Bryan Litz has done lots of testing and his numbers seem to be much more reliable than factory specs.

For example, on the 175gr Partition Nosler claims .519 but .453 is a much more accurate figure and slightly better than the 150gr Ballistic Tip. I've tested this out to 500 yards and his numbers are good.

I don't doubt they overstate it, or maybe they pick its BC at the velocity it is best and publish that as it's BC, being intentionally ambiguous about velocity. However, we should be comparing apples to apples if we are comparing two Nosler provided stats.

Sometimes. Nosler grossly overstated the BC of 200gr Accubond while understating that of the 200 Partition. Actual numbers more like .524 and .487, respectively. Go figure.

I've tested the 200 Partition again out to 500 and the above number seems accurate.

Fair enough, certainly possible.

I remember when I first started shooting a bit farther, after I got an Oehler 35P. It was a real eye opener. My actual velocities where never what the book said they would be, and the drop never matched the book charts either.
