the bell flare hits the ring , I'm just curious if there is other rings i can buy or a weaver/picatinny base i can get. I'd really like to use this 3x9-50 redfield. Any suggestions?

If you want to use those rings, that scope won't work as you found out. Other rings may possibly work, if the screw spacing is the same for both rings on the barrel, replacing the rear ring with another front ring may just get you the clearance you need. I'd probably get another scope rather than switch the rings..

thing is rings are cheaper then a scope , what i'm looking for is different rings or base and ring combo. I just don't know where to find them. The rings on the rifle are the only ones/style I can find.

Why do you need a 50mm snow scoop on a 6.5x55? These guns already need high or Xtra high rings with 40mm bell objectives..........no doubt their accuracy is up to it ,but seems impractical in the long run.......JMO Harold

i appreciate your input harold , I guess I just have a certain appreciation for clear picture. My eye sight isn't the best to begin with so I try and do what ever I can to improve my odds with what ever I have available. Maybe I'll just put the scope on the k-31 and find something else for the swede. The 50mm clears the rifle ... just it is too short for the ring distance... or vice vesa.

You need to go with extension rings like I did so I could fit my short tube scope on my mauser. You could look at weaver bases, They are like 8$ for 2 bases with screws. Then double extension rings.

Swedish 96, HVA, small ring
#955-010-055 (55) ( Rear )#955-010-046 (46) ( Front )

Or can look at Leupold 2 pc STD bases and rings like these.. ( what I run )

Forgot they make extension bases for it. Cheaper than the STDs and easier to get rings. The double extension were not cheap ( 100$ for just the rings )

Cheapest option would be going with a weaver #55 ( rear ) and a weaver #402. The front base (402 ) is a extension so mount it backwards towards you which would allow a use of cheaper weaver extension rings. You might be able to mount a thinner set of weaver rings if not buy a set of extension weavers.
Any gun shop should stock a #55 and a #402 base.

thanks alot shooter , i'm a noob when it comes to rings and bases, to know which models and parts go together with what. I'll look into both options.

No Problem. Just I only could only find the bases and rings on amazon. I think you have better luck with the weaver route. Now with the #402 base mounted backwards it might over hang a bit but should be able to mount that scope.

I just went thru hell trying to mount a scope on mine.

Millett makes a 2 piece base for a 96 FN00003 is the part#. Only issue is they DON'T make double extension rings in X high. Only high Its what I run and only got a 32mm objective on mine. So to play safe I recommend going with the weaver route.
