I'd give TacOrd a call and see if they can make you an extension.

Does the mag tube screw in on these? I've thought about getting a custom one piece mag tube made for mine and then relocate the barrel lug.

The 3000 was made by Howa out of Japan for smith. It's very close to the guts of the mossberg 500 today. Mossberg bought the prints and named it the mossberg 3000 at the time. Go have a look at a mossberg then a Remington and you'll what looks like there love child.

I think you have this gun confused. It's an 870 clone.

One thing I will say- the S&W I had was one smooth cycling gun! Real quality.

It was pretty much a direct copy of the 870 but everything was about 10% bigger.

What annoyed me on mine...I took it out to the club in the winter and fired some shells off. I didn't realize that the mag tube clamp had slid off the end of the barrel and extension, and got lost in the snow...:(

I went back when the snow had melted but couldn't find it.

And just try finding another one....yes, someone in the States sells them.

Most definitely not the same spacing and diameters as the 870 stuff.

No, he's right Claven. I had read that too. Mossberg picked up the design.

It's definetly not a clone of the 870 at least not today's 870 the pic I posted is mine and it's an ex OPP unit. I guess the best way to describe it would be to call it a Remingberg, or Mossington. It has a combo of both guns.

I'll post some more pics of it compared to my grizzly which is an 870 clone when I get time.

I have one of the S/W3000s marked as OPP as well . I bought it new back in the 1980s when a dealer was clearing them out.....I am thinking it may have been Lever Arms , or Lovetts who were selling them . I think mine is marked OPP on the stock , and receiver , with a line through OPP.....a real old school shotty...

Here are some S&W 3000 pics. Looks nothing like a Mossberg - looks like an 870 clone in every way. Are we talking about the same gun here?
