S&W Highway Patrolman 28-2 price check

Good evening I was wondering what the going price for a s&w 28-2 would be ? I have a line on one for $550 and wondering if it's a good deal ? Thanks for the info

90% condition overall been sitting in a safe for 15 years
N510### serial number so made in 1972 I guess
No original box or paperwork.

That is a good deal in my opinion. I could see that selling for $7-800.

90% condition would be considered shooter grade. . $550 is a good buy for pinned and recessed N-frame. . The Highway Patrolman is fine revolver held in very high regard. Same revolver as the Model 27 without the frills. .

They are a very accurate and solid revolver...

Congrats! I think you did well. I'd say that $550 was a very good buy.

I have a 6" 27-2 that dates to '77. The N frames are great old guns.

Is there supposed to be only one thumb groove or are the grips mismatched?

That was a hell of a great deal you got on that Patrolman, and you will never regret having it. You may want to keep your eyes out for a set of target grips for it (or if you have small hands like I do, try a set of good Hogue finger groove wood grips, those are my favorite for shooting my N frames). Congrats, you did very very good on that.
