I guess this is sort of like a baby brag book, but by a proud Canadian Gun Nut instead of a proud new parent. :d As of this afternoons tinkering she is officially done and ready for a summer of shooting. She is a Smith & Wesson M&P 40L Pro Series CORE. Extra goodies include:

Leupold Delta Point with 7.5 delta reticle
Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel
Apex RAM
Apex forward set sear and aluminum trigger kit
Magloc mag well

Using the factory trigger return spring with the Apex FSS kit, and with final adjustment of the trigger bar loop this afternoon, I have achieved a 2.5 pound trigger pull with no take up and very little over travel. She is now exactly the way I wanted her. Bring on the summer!

Very nice...I have a hankering for this very pistol....do us an 'rr' ...love to know how it shoots...congrats.

Let us know how she shoots.

I tuned my M&P Pro 9 with Apex FSS down to no take up and ended up having intermittent dead trigger syndrome.

Ultimately ended up having to back that off. Worked fine until one actually ran rounds through it.

What is your solution to loosening and tightening the Torx setscrews which lock the elevation and windage adjustments? I heated and reformed a Torx wrench.

I must have lucked out with the adjustments. 100 rounds today and no dead trigger so far. She ran flawlessly. And it is a LOT more accurate than I am.

That unfortunately is the one drawback to this setup. I loosened the lock screws and installed the sight, did the adjustments, removed the sight, re-tightened the lock screws, re-installed the sight. And it stayed zeroed. Leupold claimed it would, i wasn't sure if that would be true or not but it appears to be. I used a torque wrench to tighten it so that may have helped it stay zeroed. If I need to adjust it again I think I'll bend a wrench.

Where did you get the mag loc magwell? I'm in Ontario and can't seem to find one.

I ordered direct from htt p://www.smartlock.com/

Unfortunate that they are a company located in Canada that have their website set up in American funds. Nothing comes easy or cheap for the Canadian gun owner. Almost worth buying a pistol with all the upgrades already done. Anyone know of a Canadian retailer for M and P upgrade components?

Those M&P are easy to fix, i polished the sear of my 45 and got some stellar results, trigger is now excellent... JP.

I didn't have much luck finding stuff in Canada, and the items I did find were priced very high. And this was before the dollar tanked! The Apex goodies I ordered from Brownels and the Storm Lake Barrel was purchased from Questar. With the dollar the way it is things are only going to get worse.

Looking to do a similar build with the M&P9L Pro CORE I just bought. For the Apex parts that you ordered from Brownels, did you need an import certificate or anything? I've never ordered from them and was looking at their shipping policies. According to what I read online I wouldn't need it for a trigger kit.
