SIG Sauer 522

It was the U.S. site. Funny how the Mk 22 is not prohibited then????

Why would it be prohibited? The Sig Sauer 522 is a variant of a named prohibited rifle. Even if you consider the ISSC MK22 as being a variant of the FN SCAR, it would not be prohibited as the SCAR is not named as prohibited.

Oh, I thought the FN SCAR was prohibited in Canada. I remember reading an article about them never being allowed in Canada. If that's the case are the FN SCARs restricted in Canada? I would have interest in buying one if they are less expensive than the Bushmaster ACRs.

There's a prohibited FRT entry for the Scar. Not the same as being named on SOR/98-462

Someone should really get the RCMP to take another look at the FNH-USA Scar family. Seems to me that with a proper inspection they'd change their minds.

I though the issue was that the SCAR could be converted to auto simply by installing the FA parts in it so it would end up prohibited anyhow even if they revisited it.

I don't know how internal details of the SCAR, or which model the RCMP examined, but I know that the BATFE generally don't allow those sort of things

Neither do I but I was going by this thread that I read a long time ago from the guy who supposedly gave the RCMP the rifle for inspection.

From what I understand of US law the receiver being able to take FA parts is irrelevant. The FA parts are considered an illegal weapon on its own.
